Oda drops new lore concerning Nika in One Piece.

Fans are especially excited about what Elbaf can deliver going forward because of the connection of this place to the Sun God, Nika, and the implications that this fact carries. In fact, One Piece chapter 1136 played at just that and made an absolutely massive reveal about the original Sun God Nika, shocking and exciting the fans at the same time. While the Void Century was openly considered to be the greatest mystery in the One Piece world, now an even bigger mystery has emerged, and fans are absolutely ecstatic about all that’s happening.

How The Void Century Hides Many Mysteries

  • Joy Boy Was Born During The Void Century
  • The World Government Was Established After The Void Century

The Void Century has been teased often in One Piece and it’s no surprise that it remains to be the biggest mystery in the entire story so far. The Void Century was hinted at by Nico Robin on multiple occasions across the first few arcs in the Grand Line, specifically the Arabasta and the Skypiea arcs. As the story continued, Oda started revealing bits and pieces about this part of the story and Water 7 was quite easily the most significant arc in this regard, giving fans a lot of information through Professor Clover of Ohara. When Ohara was destroyed, it was primarily done to preserve the secrets of the Void Century and keep the archaeologists from exploring any further. These rigorous attempts of the World Government were, fortunately, of no use as everything that Ohara had worked incredibly hard for was preserved in the end.

Saul, along with the Giants of Elbaf, worked together to get the books safely to Elbaf and then set up a new library there. Not only that, but Vegapunk was also able to study every bit of information uncovered by those of Ohara and store it all in his mind. Vegapunk also delivered a massive message to the people of the world moments after Stella died and this message uncovered some deep secrets about the One Piece world, such as the previous and the future sinking, and at the same time, the war that was fought between the Ancient Kingdom, led by the first pirate Joy Boy, and The Alliance, a group of 29 Kings who united to curb the influence of the former and completely decimate them. A 100-year war that ensued saw to the destruction of the Ancient Kingdom and Joy Boy, with all that was left behind being the Poneglyphs which were scattered all over the world. This mystery is clearly being uncovered bit by bit and fans absolutely cannot wait to see what great pieces of information Oda will reveal next about the 100-year Void.

Oda Just Revealed A War Before The Void Century

While The Void Century Is Exciting, There’s An Even More Exciting War To Uncover

The Void Century is certainly a very massive event that took place in the One Piece world and fans still don’t know everything about it, despite it having been central to just about everything in the story. However, there is an even bigger event that was recently uncovered by Oda, and it is safe to say that its roots are set deep into an era long before even the Void Century. One Piece Chapter 1136 introduced fans to the Harley texts, which is an ancient writing of Elbaphian culture that is now lost to time and impossible to decipher. This language has had multiple translations, with each translation telling a slightly different story about the Sun God Nika.

It is said that our world has already been destroyed twice before. — Jarul

According to the text, the world of One Piece has been destroyed two times already, and both times, the name of the Sun God Nika is invoked. This essentially means that Sun God Nika is already present when the world is destroyed. Curiously enough, fans already know that the former Sun God, Joy Boy, was present during the war against the World Government. This war was disastrous to the degree that it engulfed the entire world and sank it. The world of One Piece saw a rise in water level of about 200 meters, which is absolutely staggering, to say the least. Countless people died in this war, and the face of the earth changed entirely. This war was catastrophic, no matter which way one looks at it, and it allowed the winners of the war, that is, the World Government, to solidify their grip over the world and rule for the centuries to come—something that they’re still doing to this day. While the deep secrets and mysteries of this era will soon be uncovered, fans know that there is an even bigger war that has now been teased.

The bandaged Holy Knight member has her name revealed as Gunko. Her powers are impressive in One Piece.

Jarul clearly mentioned in the story that the world of One Piece has been destroyed twice. While Joy Boy was fighting in one cataclysmic event, the other was fought by none other than the original Nika. The Sun God Nika, who fans know was a Giant and originated from Elbaf, fought many years ago against an unknown enemy powerful enough to change the whole world. Nika was mighty, such that he saved the whole world from destruction and brought about a great change. But, this does make fans wonder as to what the state of the world was back in this era and how it was destroyed in the first place. After all, fans know that the World Government, the Ancient Weapons, or the 20 Kings didn’t exist back then. So, who exactly did the Sun God fight?

Unfortunately, the fans don’t know who the Sun God fought long ago, but given that the first Nika was an actual God, it is likely that the one he fought was a deity itself. As such, this could’ve been a battle between the Sun God and the Sea Devil—a battle to shake the entire world straight down to its very core.

Fans hope the story of the real Nika is revealed in One Piece later down the line since its implications are huge and while it may not connect to the Void Century, it adds a tremendous amount of depth to the One Piece world, as well as the Nika Devil Fruit.

One Piece is available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and the Manga Plus apps. The release date for the next chapter of One Piece, One Piece 1136, is set to be January 19, 2025.
