Guide To Get To Amphoreus In Honkai: Star Rail

With every major update, Honkai: Star Rail adds a planet to explore, each rife with mysteries, adventures, dangers, and copious rewards. The 3.0 patch added Amphoreus, a Greek-inspired world held captive by a cosmic Mobius strip. As the story in Star Rail progresses from planet to planet, reaching Amphoreus can be a straightforward affair. It is possible, however, to experience it early.

Honkai: Star Rail – The Herta Complete Guide

The Herta is one of the strongest characters to be released in the history of Honkai: Star Rail, and here’s how you can use her properly.

Most of the main story content in Star Rail can stand on its own, but there is some narrative connection between worlds. As such, when you get to Amphoreus is up to you, and there are multiple ways to reach the Eternal Land.

How Long Does It Take To Get To Amphoreus

There are two ways to reach Amphoreus: progressing the main Trailblaze Mission story campaign all the way through Penacony until you unlock the new planet, or by using the early access feature Finality’s Vision: Leap of Trailblaze. We’ll explain the latter feature in a bit.

Be aware that these two methods take vastly different amounts of time to complete.

The biggest roadblocks you’ll face early in a Star Rail playthrough are level gates that take at least two or three days of steady grinding to breach, thanks to ballooning experience requirements and Trailblaze Power limitations.

Here’s a rundown of how much time each planet takes to complete. We’ll also note the Trailblaze and Equilibrium Level gates.

Herta’s Space Station

The bridge on Herta's Space Station in Honkai Star Rail.

There are only a few main story missions on Herta’s Space Station, befitting its purpose as a tutorial level. The remainder of the time you spend there will be on side missions and exploration. Specifically:

  • Trailblaze missions: Seven missions total.
  • Side, companion, and previously limited event missions: 12 missions total.
  • Trailblaze and Equilibrium Level gates: None.
  • Main Story completion time: Between two and four hours.
  • Full completion time: Between eight and 12 hours.

Jarilo-VI

The first major planet you’ll visit in Honkai: Star Rail is Jarilo-VI, a snowbound, relatively well-adjusted post-apocalyptic world where the whole planet’s been in deep freeze for 700 years. You’ll also encounter the first Trailblaze and Equilibrium level gates here.

Jarilo-VI introduces Trailblaze Continuance missions to the game. These missions expand the planet’s story, supplement the main quest, introduce new characters, and provide good sources of additional EXP.

Specifically:

  • Trailblaze missions:
    • Act One “In The Withering Wintry Night”: 12 missions
    • Act Two “In the Sweltering Morning Sun”: Ten missions
  • Side, companion, and previously limited event missions: 30 missions total.
    • Act One: 15 missions
    • Act Two: 15 missions including three available after completing the Act.
  • Trailblaze and Equilibrium Level gates:
    • You need to be at least Trailblaze Level seven to access the Jarilo-VI story
    • Act One has three level gates:
      • Reach Trailblaze Level 14 after “Long Wait for the Blade’s Edge;”
      • Reach Trailblaze Level 16 after The Past Will Return as an Avalanche;”
      • Reach Trailblaze Level 18 after “Lying in Rust.”
    • Act Two has two gates:
      • Reach Equilibrium Level One to access the Act. You’ll need to reach Trailblaze Level 20 to start the Equilibrium mission.
      • Reach Trailblaze Level 24 after “Not Good With Farewells,” the final chapter of Act One
  • Main Story completion time: 15-20 hours across several days with experience limitations.
  • Full completion time: 20-30 hours if you find every chest, complete every side mission, and exhaust all other optional content, including previously limited events.

Honkai: Star Rail – Should You Pull For The Herta Or Aglaea?

Honkai: Star Rail’s The Herta and Aglaea are two of its most complex characters, but which should you try and pull?

Xianzhou Luofu

The Central Starskiff Haven skyling on the Xianzhou Luofu in Honkai Star Rail.

While the Xianzhou storyline is technically a full act longer than Jarilo-VI’s, the latter acts are on the shorter side. However, you need to be at least Trailblaze Level 29 to even access the Luofu storyline.

That alone will take at least a few days of experience and quest grinding, adding anywhere from ten-to-15 hours between planets.Thankfully, the Xianzhou is the last planet with any level gates, and once you finish it, you’ll be able to progress through Penacony and Amphoreus once you reach them.

  • Trailblaze missions:
    • Act One “Windswept Wanderlust”: Nine missions
    • Act Two “Topclouded Towerthrust”: Two missions
    • Act Three “Karmic Clouds Faded, War Banners Folded”: One mission
  • Side, companion, and previously limited event missions: 25 missions total, but all the events are large in scope and will take at least a few hours to complete if you power through them.
    • Act One: Eight missions
    • Act Two: Eight missions
    • Act Three: Nine missions, including six available after the Act’s completion
  • Trailblaze and Equilibrium Level gates:
    • You need to be at least Trailblaze Level 29 to access the Xianzhou Luofu story.
    • Act One has one level gate: Reach Trailblaze Level 34 after “Stars Spun, Prescience Sprung.” You will have reached Equilibrium Level Two by this point.
  • Main Story completion time: 20-25 hours across several days with experience limitations. Faster if you frontload your playthrough with optional content.
  • Full completion time: 25-35 hours if you find every chest, complete every side mission, and exhaust all other optional content, including the many previously limited events.

Penacony

The Penacony story quest is significantly longer than both Jarilo-VI and the Xianzhou combined, taking place across five acts, each with multiple chapters to complete.

  • Trailblaze missions:
    • Act One “The Sound and the Fury”: Nine missions
    • Act Two “Cat Among Pigeons”: Nine missions across multiple perspectives
    • Act Three “In Our Time”: Eleven missions across multiple perspectives
    • Act Four “Farewell, Penacony”: Seven missions across multiple perspectives
    • Act Five “A New Venture on the Eighth Dawn”: Six missions across two perspectives
  • Side, companion, and previously limited event missions: 25 missions total, but all the events are large in scope and will take at least a few hours to complete if you power through them.
    • Act One: Five missions
    • Act Two: None
    • Act Three: Three missions, including one available after the Act’s completion
    • Act Four: Three missions, including two available after the Act’s completion
    • Act Five: None
  • Trailblaze and Equilibrium Level gates:
    • Penacony has no Trailblaze or Equilibrium gates
  • Main Story completion time: 15-20 hours, thanks to a lack of experience limitations, but there is a lot to do.
  • Full completion time: 25-30 hours if you find every chest, complete every side mission, and exhaust all other optional content, including the few previously limited events.

Total Time To Get To Amphoreus

Aglaea looking distant and unconcerned in Honkai Star Rail.

If you decide to complete the full Honkai: Star Rail story campaign before reaching Amphoreus, then your total time played will be:

  • Main story content only: At least 52 hours.
  • All available content: Expect to spend more than 100 hours progressing if you do every side quest and companion mission, all the event content, collect every chest and solve every puzzle, and everything else you can find.

These calculations do not include any additional grinding you do for Relics, Trace Materials, or other upgrade items beyond what is absolutely necessary to reach the next chapter of the story.

How To Reach Amphoreus Early

Unlocking Amphoreus with Finality's Vision Leap of Trailblaze in Honkai Star Rail.

If all of the above feels like way too much work (and it is a lot of work, there is no doubt), you can skip most of it using the Finality’s Vision: Leap of Trailblaze feature introduced with the 3.0 update.

There is only one prerequisite to getting into Amphoreus (or Penacony) early: you need to complete at least through the end of the Jarilo-VI story missions, ending with “Silent Galaxy.”

Once you complete Jarilo-VI, open your Star Rail Map and click the World Early Access button at the bottom left of the screen.

Pressing that button will reveal both Amphoreus (and Penacony if you haven’t reached it yet). You can then select Amphoreus and press Confirm on both the map screen and the warning pop-up to be jolted forward to the first part of its Trailblaze Mission, “Silver Chariot, Away to that Blackened Land.”

Should You Go To Amphoreus Early?

The Finality's Vision early content access warning in Honkai Star Rail.

We don’t recommend tackling Amphoreus until you have a well-built team. That’s because the content came out so much later than Jarilo-VI, and it’s unlikely whatever setup you pull together in the short time between starting the game and unlocking Finality’s Vision will stand up to the massive difficulty spike.

Making the massive content jump also robs you of a lot of story context around the events that occur in the Amphoreus quest, so expect to be a bit confused about specific topics, characters, and events that come up.

Lastly, because the early content is so much easier by comparison, collecting Stellar Jades and other currencies you’ll want going forward is much more comfortable. Waiting a bit before taking the plunge lets you learn how to play your best team, which you’ll need to master to take on the challenges Amphoreus will present.
