Dynasty Warriors: Origins - How To Chain Battle Arts

Trainings are various tasks given by companions to the Wanderer that you can try and complete during battles in Dynasty Warriors: Origins. While some are as easy as just defeating a certain number of enemies; others can get more complex, such as asking you to Chain Battle Arts.

With enough Bravery, you can use two Battle Arts back-to-back, but this won’t necessarily chain them in the way this training is asking you to. Here’s how to Chain Battle Arts together and also how to help trigger the conditions to make it happen.

How To Chain Battle Arts In Dynasty Warriors: Origins

Chaining Battle Arts is done whenever you use a Battle Art that is then followed up by the Battle Art from your companion on the same enemy. To make this happen, you’ll need to be fighting near a companion or an officer you have a Bond with, and wait until you see a blue line connect both of you in battle.

Once you see the blue line, your Battle Arts will be flashing blue, and using any of them will trigger a Chain Battle Art. When you see this blue line, know it is only there for a short time so use it while you can. Using a Chain Battle Art will require the same amount of Bravery on your end, though the damage of course will be much higher than usual.

Exiting active combat even for a short time or getting on your horse and riding around for a short time will make the blue line disappear.

How To Make The Blue Line Appear In Dynasty Warriors: Origins

The blue line can happen either with a companion or just an officer you have a bond with, and to get it to trigger, you’ll first need to fight near them in any fight. This blue line indicates that you have their attention, and to get that you’ll need to perform really well in battle:

  • Landing parries.
  • Getting perfect dodges.
  • Landing Battle Arts on officers.
  • Assaulting officer.
  • Use Musou Rage attacks.

Beyond doing your best in battle, there is some level of RNG when it comes to making the blue line appear, as it’s possible to have a perfect fight near a companion and the line never appears. This is a special attack and should be done whenever possible, and if it’s a training, you’re currently working on it may be best to proceed with the story and wait for it to happen organically, then try to make it happen during a certain fight.
