As you soar through the skies in Aloft, you’ll encounter dozens of islands with a wide variety of materials. One of the rarest materials you’ll have the luck of finding is Windstone Crystal. It’s hard to miss, but you have to be fortunate enough to locate it on an island first.
Thankfully, we’ve done the sailing for you so you can narrow your search to the right places. Here’s everything you need to know to find Windstone Crystals so you can build up a supply on your home island. There’s always room for more crafting materials, no matter where you go!

What Is A Windstone Crystal?
In your travels across the islands in Aloft, you’ll find glowing blue rocks. While these aren’t Windstone Crystals, they’re a good sign. If you can find a nearby cave, you may even uncover this rare resource.
These vibrant blue crystals are different from their rocky Windstone counterparts. Windstone Crystals come in small to large nodes and can be used as a crafting material.
How To Get Windstone Crystals
To get Windstone Crystals, you’ll need a pickaxe and a bit of luck. There’s no guarentee you’ll find these bright blue crystals in every cave, but you have a chance the more you explore.
Look along the walls and ceilings of caves for nodes of Windstone Crystals. You’ll get a handful of crystals from each node, depending on the size.
Without the right tools, you won’t be able to collect the Windstone Crystals.
Once you have the crystals, they can be used for crafting. So far, there’s only two recipes we know of that uses Windstone Crystals. Below is everything you need to know to make it at a crafting table:
