The Veilguard Player Improves Lighthouse Banters

The Veilguard Player Improves Lighthouse Banters

Summary

  • This Dragon Age: The Veilguard mod lets Rook talk during companion banters that take place in the Lighthouse.
  • The modder found voice lines for this in the game files, since Rook will typically only pipe up if the banter takes place outside of the Lighthouse.
  • With the mod installed, Rook should always say their lines, no matter where the banter happens.

Like previous games, our companions in Dragon Age: The Veilguard love to natter amongst themselves. This time around, they’ll even chat to each other in the hub area, the Lighthouse, and not just when we’re out on missions.

However, it turns out that some Lighthouse banters are the same ones we can hear when we’re adventuring – the only difference being that the lines that Rook can chime in with have been removed. This is pretty odd, given that the Lighthouse conversations won’t kick in unless Rook is standing there anyway, so a modder has done something about it.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard Mod Lets Rook Actually Talk To Companions

This mod enables some unused voice lines, so Rook has something to say in the Lighthouse

Rook Participates in Banter at the Lighthouse” by Nexus Mods user flowersforthemachines does exactly what it says on the tin, letting Rook pipe up if they have something to say.

“Some banters in the game have two versions: a field version that Rook can participate in, and a Lighthouse version without Rook’s line(s),” reads the mod’s description. “I’ve always thought it was weird Rook never said anything at the Lighthouse considering the banters only trigger when you stand close to the characters, so I made a mod to fix that. The game now always thinks that the team is not at the Lighthouse (for banter purposes), and will play Rook’s special lines when available.”

This could go a long way in addressing a common complaint with The Veilguard, as some felt that the companions didn’t even like Rook. It’s easy to feel that way when they literally hold regular book club meetings without you, although there is another mod you can download to let you join those.

We also covered another mod that addressed fan complaints the other day – one that stops you from failing Lucanis’ romance. Now, you can get with him no matter what, even if you made that decision early on in the game.
