Since the release of Update 1.6, Stardew Valley has received additional patches to address various issues, with one of the latest targeting the Switch specifically.

Stardew Valley Players Discover Bug in New Patch

Stardew Valley players get a new patch for the game, but immediately discover that it’s broken a feature, and fans aren’t happy.

The latest Stardew Valley Switch update fixed a problem with the raccoon shop, the “divorce crash,” rain randomization, “and a few other things,” according to game creator ConcernedApe. But while the new Stardew Valley Switch update fixed these problems, it also introduced a new issue with gift giving. As of the latest update, it seems Stardew Valley Switch players can gift villagers literally anything, and they will respond as though they love it, whereas typically players are supposed to figure out what each villager likes and dole out gifts accordingly.

Stardew Valley Switch Update Introduces New Issue

A Twitter user brought this issue with Stardew Valley gift giving to ConcernedApe’s attention. He acknowledged the problem and confirmed that the team is “looking into it” and that it “will be fixed too.” Until another update can be rolled out for Stardew Valley on Switch, players on the platform are going to have a significantly easier time getting the denizens of Pelican Town to like them.

Some Stardew Valley players on Switch will jump on this opportunity to make their time playing the game a little easier, but others may be disappointed that this bug is making building relationships a little too easy. Part of the fun of the game is learning about each Pelican Town resident and figuring out their likes and dislikes and giving the appropriate gifts based on that info. Now, there’s still a dizzying amount of content Stardew Valley players can engage with that has nothing to do with gift giving, so fans concerned about the bug may want to focus on those aspects of the game in the meantime.
