  • Why Elbaf Is Connected To The Sun God
  • Nika Will Always Come To Elbaf

The fact that Nika, the Sun God, was implied long ago in the story. The very first glimpse of Nika’s connection to the land of Elbaf was given to the fans in the Whole Cake Island arc of One Piece, specifically during Big Mom’s flashback. When Linlin started running wild following the hunger pangs she felt during the Winter Solstice, it was Mother Carmel who used her powers to quell the disaster and claimed it to be the doing of the Sun God. Undoubtedly, this was fans’ first hint at Elbaf and the Sun God’s connection, but there is certainly more than just that.

The Sun God was the one who calmed the disaster! – Mother Carmel

In the Egghead Island arc of One Piece, Vegapunk clearly explained the reason why Elbaf is so heavily connected to the Sun God. The reason is simply that the myths of Nika actually originate from the land of Elbaf. It is said that the land of the Giants is where Nika’s tales originally come from, meaning that the original Nika was, in fact, a Giant. Along with the Giants, the Buccaneers of the One Piece world, who are known to carry the blood of the Giants, also have had the legends of the Sun God Nika pass down their line. Clearly, the Giants’ connection to Nika is massively important and the more the story continues, the more information Oda will go on to reveal about it.

Currently, Luffy has the power of the Nika Devil Fruit and it is this fruit that elevates his importance in the eyes of the Elbaphian people. Right now, Luffy, as Nika, is a massive threat to the World Government, and he will eventually go on to fight a massive war against them.

The Three Comings Of The Sun God

The Sun God Of The One Piece World Comes Before A Storm

Fans have known about the legend of the Sun God for quite a while now. The name was initially mentioned by none other than Who’s Who, a member of Kaido’s Beast Pirates, who heard it from slaves in the Holy Land of Marijoa. Later down the line, more lore about Nika was revealed by none other than the Five Elders, who went on to confirm that Luffy has the power of the Nika fruit, and that Nika appears in time of need, going from place to place with laughter and joy, freeing people from their chains as the Warrior of Liberation. Since then, fans have found out quite a lot of exciting information about the Sun God Nika, such as Vegapunk mentioning his origin and connection to Elbaf in Egghead, which was already discussed earlier.

According to our mythology, the world has been destroyed two times already. – Jarul

Now, Elbaf has revealed new lore about the Sun God Nika to the fans. It has now been made clear that the world of One Piece has previously been destroyed twice. Fans know that the last destruction of the world came about 800 years ago, and that it was carried out by none other than the 20 Kings, who united to fight against Joy Boy and the Ancient Kingdom. This war lasted for a total of 100 years, and at the end of it, the entire world was sunk, as was confirmed by Vegapunk. This was largely the work of the Ancient Weapons which still exist in the One Piece world, ready to be utilized once again.

When I was a kid, I thought to myself: Man I would love to draw a manga with the most hyped final stage! I wonder if I’m up to it! Now, we have only a tiny bit of Wano arc left, the preparations are almost done. Took me 25 years lol. That said, it’s fine if you start reading from this point on, Because from this point on…it’ll be… (the) ONE PIECE!! The mysteries of this world, I’ll be drawing all of them! It’ll be super interesting! Fasten your seatbelt! And please stay with me for a bit longer! – Eiichiro Oda

Long before the Void Century, the world was destroyed for the very first time, due to an unknown reason. It is currently unknown what threat the world faced back then, but what is known is that Nika, the first Sun God, appeared during this time. Since Nika is a liberator and one who brings smiles, it is clear that the people must’ve been miserable during this time period, which suggests the existence of an evil force even bigger than the World Government.
