Summary
- Bend Studio had seven job openings on its website just days ago.
- Now, all of them have disappeared.
- It’s possible that this is linked to the cancellation of its live-service game.
Bend Studio has suddenly removed all of the job openings from its website, just as it’s revealed that its live-service game has been cancelled. This came alongside the cancellation of a God of War live service at Bluepoint Games, as PlayStation revises its strategy.
The job openings appear to have been removed from the site very recently, as the Wayback Machine shows that there were seven career opportunities at Bend Studio just ten days ago. It’s unlikely all of the positions have been filled in that time, and it’s possible that the company has halted hiring in response to the live-service’s cancellation.
Bend Studio Has No Job Openings After Live-Service Cancellation
There were seven job openings just days ago
We can’t pinpoint when exactly these job listings were removed, but all seven were still present on the Bend Studio website the last time that it was saved on the Wayback Machine, which was on January 8. The preview of the website that appears in a Google search also still shows the seven job listings, suggesting that they were removed very recently.

It’s Good For Gaming That We Aren’t Getting A God Of War Live-Service Game
Sony’s cancelled live-service God of War game might do better dead than alive.
Hopefully, this doesn’t mean that the studio will face any job losses over this project being cancelled by PlayStation. We’ve already seen Sony’s live service endeavours lead to a studio closure, with Firewalk Studios being shut down after Concord’s disastrous launch.
We’ll have to see what this means for Bend Studio going forward. The developer’s last game was Days Gone in 2019, although it did port the game to PC in 2021. It’s unclear what else the team is working on right now.
In Days Gone, a PlayStation 4 exlusive on launch, you play the role of Deacon St. John, a biker outlaw who must find his missing wife in a post-apocalyptic world. It features a vast section of the Pacific Northwest, with various camps and missions to complete on your journey.
