We hope to see these games remade on Nintendo Switch 2.
Luckily, that can change with the Nintendo Switch 2. With the new console generation comes unlimited potential for ports and remasters. And thanks to the more powerful hardware, some of these games might even look and play better than ever. The following titles, in particular, would be a very welcome addition to the Switch 2 library.

F-Zero GX
An Iconic Sci-Fi Racer
F-Zero GX
Mario Kart may be all the rage, but F-Zero will always be the coolest and most intense Nintendo racer. The series made a brief comeback with F-Zero 99, but it’s high time Captain Falcon returns to the cockpit in full HD.
F-Zero GX is a timeless GameCube title featuring epic high-speed races, thrilling anti-gravity mechanics, and an adrenaline-pumping rock soundtrack. Some updated visuals and online multiplayer are really all it needs to entice Switch 2 owners. Bonus points if it includes content from its arcade counterpart, F-Zero AX.

Yoshi’s Woolly World
The Most Adorable 2D Platformer
Yoshi’s Woolly World is a tragically underrated 2D platformer and one of the few Wii U games that never made it to Switch. While it was ported to 3DS in 2017, a new home console remaster is long overdue.
In a world made of arts and crafts, Baby Bowser has unraveled the Yarn Yoshis into lifeless bundles. It’s up to you to explore the island and revive your friends.
There’s a lot to love about the game, including its exceptional level design, well-hidden secrets, and adorable art style. It would be a dream come true to revisit this charming adventure on the Switch 2, ideally with content from both the Wii U and 3DS versions.

The Legend Of Zelda: Wind Waker & Twilight Princess HD
Two Excellent Remasters Stuck On The Wii U
Zelda fans have been asking for ports of Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD for ages. Hopefully, the Switch 2 will finally deliver. Both remasters are widely considered the best versions of their respective games, featuring stunning new visuals and much-needed quality-of-life improvements.

Wind Waker HD, in particular, has many exciting updates, including the Swift Sail, a stunning new lighting engine, and a streamlined version of the Triforce side quest. Let’s hope Nintendo can finally free these excellent remasters from the clutches of the Wii U.

Elden Ring
A Legendary Souslike
The worst part about only owning a Switch is missing out on many revolutionary cross-platform titles. A case in point is Elden Ring – Game of the Year winner in 2022 and the most beloved action RPG in recent memory. If the Switch 2 is powerful enough, it needs to have this modern masterpiece in its library.
Elden Ring made a huge splash among RPG fans thanks to its immersive open world, challenging soulslike gameplay, and top-notch lore written by Game of Thrones author George R. R. Martin. It’s a shame Nintendo fans have missed out on it, but hopefully, that will change going forward.

E For Everyone due to Mild Cartoon Violence
While both of its sequels are available on Switch, the first Luigi’s Mansion is still stuck on the GameCube and 3DS. The game was a massive turning point for the Mario universe, thanks to its enthralling ghost-hunting gameplay, eerie atmosphere, and outstanding lighting effects.
Not only would the game look incredible in HD, but it would be a blessing to have the entire trilogy on one console. Plus, it’d be great to experience the 3DS content on a TV, including co-op mode and boss rematches.

Super Mario Galaxy 2
Why Hasn’t This Sequel Been Ported Yet?
Super Mario Galaxy 2
It’s still baffling that Super Mario Galaxy 2 wasn’t included in the 3D All-Stars collection, and it’s time this remarkable adventure finally made it to modern consoles. The first one will forever be a classic, but the sequel really took things to the next level with fantastic new power-ups, plenty of memorable levels, and the inclusion of Yoshi.

The first Mario Galaxy feels great on the Switch, and the brilliant minds at Nintendo can undoubtedly make the sequel work, too. Being able to play it without digging out the Wii is already worth the price of admission. Plus, how incredible would it be to take both titles on the go?
A Must-Play JRPG
There’s no shortage of Persona titles to play on Nintendo Switch, but its sister game, Metaphor: ReFantazio, is sadly missing. The plot follows Will, who enters the Royal Tournament to win the kingdom’s throne after the king’s unexpected death.
Similar to Persona, Metaphor: ReFantazio features a mix of turn-based combat, social simulation, and dungeon crawling. Its superb story and phenomenal gameplay earned it Best Role-Playing Game at The Game Awards 2024. Hopefully, Switch 2 owners will be able to embark on this epic journey sometime in the future.
Maybe Atlus can give us a Persona 3 Reload port while they’re at it?

Metroid Prime 2 & 3
First-Person Shooting At Its Finest
Metroid Prime Remastered is the best way to play Samus Aran’s 3D debut. Fingers crossed that the next two entries in the series will get the same treatment. Metroid Prime 2: Echoes and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption are must-play first-person shooters that expand the universe, introduce exciting new abilities, and flesh out the lore.
All three titles were ported to the Wii in 2009 as part of Metroid Prime: Trilogy, and it would be incredible if the series did something similar on the Switch 2. Just give the visuals a fresh coat of paint, add a few quality-of-life updates, and watch them fly off the shelves.
