There’s no wrong way to play a cozy sandbox game like Aloft, but we’ve got some tips to get you started.
Aside from the option of simply eating individual pieces of food, you can turn them into ingredients and cook some delicious dishes once you get hold of a Cooking Plate and find a Campfire. Some of these recipes can also go a long way in helping you tackle even the most intense battles to save the ecosystem.

Pumpkin Pie
While the majority of dishes that you can cook in Aloft provide you with health buffs, many of them can’t reach the significant HP increase that the Pumpkin Pie can give you. With the increased stats lasting for 14 minutes, the Pumpkin Pie not only increases your health but also provides you with a buff to your attack damage, making it a dish that should be in your consideration.
Naturally, you need a Pumpkin in your inventory to be the star of the dish to cook it, along with Eggs and some Sugar for seasoning.
Since Eggs can be a bit difficult to come across in Aloft, and considering how many recipes they are a part of, make sure you use them on the most beneficial dishes.
7
Berry Loaf
Considering that the buffs that you get from eating any dish in Aloft only last for a limited duration, it would make sense for you to ensure that you can get the maximum benefit out of it. This is why the Berry Loaf is an excellent dish to cook; along with a massive health boost, it also brings other essential buffs to the table.
All you need are Blueberries, Eggs, and some Flour, and you can increase both your attack damage and speed, which can help you power through any encounter.
6
Summer Salad
If you are leaning towards a healthier side and want to keep your inventory stacked up for the future as well, the Summer Salad is the perfect dish for you. Aside from increasing your attack damage, it also helps you with your resource gathering.

Of course, like the other dishes in Aloft, the Summer Salad also provides you with an HP increase for a while, making it an important recipe to remember. As you might expect, you will need two veggies, Tomato and Corn, to prepare the Summer Salad, along with a bit of Garlic to add some seasoning goodness.
5
Stew
While the Stew may not come with many additional benefits, the boost that it provides to your HP proves hard to match for the majority of the other cooked dishes in Aloft.
Even the duration of the health buff provided by the Stew is some of the longest available in the game, resulting in a dish that could keep you going for quite some time during any combat encounter. Since it is mainly a veggie Stew, you will require Carrots and Potatoes to cook it, along with some Water to give it its liquid texture.
4
Carrot Loaf
The Loaves are some of the most effective cooked dishes in Aloft, and their Carrot variant is no different. Packing some of the highest HP boosts that you can get from consuming a dish, the Carrot Loaf’s buffs may not last for too long, but its other benefits make it more than worth it.
From increasing your attack damage to also giving a significant boost to how fast you can attack your enemies, the Carrot Loaf should be considered if you have Carrots, Eggs, and Flour in your inventory.
Flour is used for every single variant of Loaf, so it is important to have a sufficient amount in your inventory. You can convert the easily obtainable Wheat in a Millstone to acquire Flour.
3
Corn Loaf
Similar to what the Berry and Carrot Loaves bring to the table, the Corn Loaf also comes with increases in your attack speed and damage, along with the general health buffs that you have come to expect from cooked dishes. With plenty of HP boost and duration in store, the Corn Loaf is just as nourishing as it promises to be.

The core ingredients for the Corn Loaf remain the same, making it necessary to have Eggs and Flour in your inventory, but the only difference is in your choice of veggie, as it is naturally Corn to live up to its name.
2
Pumpkin Loaf
If you thought the Pumpkin Pie was an effective dish to cook and consume in Aloft, its Loaf version takes its benefits to a much higher level. It keeps your HP in check for quite a long duration, and you can rest assured knowing you are all set on the offensive front too, with massive boosts to your attack damage and speed taking care of that.
Requiring Egg and Flour as the main ingredients, similar to the rest of the Loaves in the game, the Pumpkin Loaf also needs you to have a Pumpkin in your inventory to prepare a flavorful dish.
1
Gnocchi
The highest HP boost and the longest duration for which it lasts makes Gnocchi the undisputed best cooked meal in Aloft. Aside from living up to its healthy promises, the Gnocchi also helps you out in gathering more resources, along with giving a buff to your offensive abilities.
Its utility makes having Eggs, Potatoes, and Flour in your inventory a must, ensuring that you survive any battle for as long as possible until you are safely out of danger and able to acquire more ingredients.
