Something strange is happening to Avowed‘s Steam page, as the Community Hub section has been completely shut down and players are reporting that the game has disappeared from their library.
Ever since it was first revealed all the way back in 2020 and set expectations that it was going to be Obsidian’s take on Skyrim, Avowed has had a very strange and rocky development. That reveal made way for years of silence from Xbox on the project, before it was re-revealed as a smaller-scale game and then eventually delayed into early 2025.

For the first time in years, I’m expecting to be making heavy use of my Xbox.
Things haven’t got much better from there. Despite some positive previews from critics, Xbox has remained mostly silent about Avowed as it approaches its February release date, which is unfortunately sandwiched between other RPG behemoths. Combine that with an ongoing hate campaign against the developers due to the game’s use of pronouns, and it’s not been the best of times for those waiting on Avowed.
Something Weird Is Happening With Avowed’s Steam Page
That long journey has just taken a very strange turn over the past few days. As pointed out by Redditor Turbostrider27 on the pcgaming subreddit, Avowed’s Community Hub page has been completely shut down. Trying to access the hub from Avowed’s Steam page just redirects you to the pre-order section, while searching for it manually doesn’t drag up anything to do with the game.
Considering how toxic the Community Hub for Avowed has been over the past few months, it doesn’t come as much of a surprise to see it removed or more closely monitored. That doesn’t necessarily seem to be the case here, though, as it instead seems like something bigger is going on with the game itself.
Earlier today, Redditor GAzvd shared on the Avowed subreddit that the game has gone missing from their library, something that a few players have now reported to be the case. One commenter shared that SteamDB has recently updated the game to remove its early access release date of February 13, before having access to the game removed.
Considering Avowed is launching next to Assassin’s Creed Shadows and Monster Hunter: Wilds, it shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise if it sees a delay.
All of this evidence suggests that Avowed might be facing a delay in the near future and that the issues with the Steam page are reflective of this, rather than a sign that Obsidian is trying to stop the toxic discussions. We’ll have to wait and see, but it seems likely that something is going on behind the scenes.
