Squid Game Season 2 has triumphantly returned, and it is as shocking, fast-paced, and thought-provoking as the first season. In its first three days on Netflix, the season garnered over 68 million views, which is Netflix’s biggest debut ever. People from all over the world really seem to be enjoying this show.

These Netflix shows and movies deserve to be made into big games.
However, if you loved the show, you’re probably looking for something else to get you through these Squid-less trying times. Perhaps a game! Many Squid Game-like games are available for a short amount of time in the form of promotions or special events; however, in this list, we are covering games you can play at any time.

Danganronpa
This game, a perfect start to our list, centers on the school Hope’s Peak Academy, echoing the hope felt by the players entering the Squid Game. Unlike Squid Game, whose 456 down on their luck, debt-ridden characters choose the game out of desperation, Danganronpa characters are typically 16 “Ultimate” high school students who eventually get trapped in a new world. Instead of a cross-eyed bully robot doll, the characters face Monokuma, a creepy robot bear.
The two ways for characters to leave are if they kill another student and get away with it or in the form of Class Trials. Class Trials can occur where students try to find murderers; however, if they are wrong when guessing who an actual killer is, the true killer leaves the school, and the other students are executed. The voting process in season two of Squid Game showcases a lot of similarities, but there is no right or wrong way to vote. The only thing that matters is surviving the next game.

Trivia Murder Party
A Game In The Jackbox Party Pack 3
The Jackbox Party Pack 3 is a collection of several social/multiplayer focused party games. One of the more popular games in the Pack is Trivia Murder Party. This is a quiz-based game where players must go to the ‘Killing Floor’ if any “living” player gets questions wrong. Players live or die based on their performance in the game.
The game is officially over when one player is left and when at least five questions have been played. The lethal “live or die” take on an otherwise harmless game genre strikes the same competitive note that Squid Game does.
6
Mortal Kombat
Fight
When Mortal Kombat came out, similar to Squid Game, both got a lot of attention because of how violent and gruesome they both were. Although Mortal Kombat largely rests on brute strength, it often requires a lot of technique and precision in the gameplay, similar to the intricate focus required in the Six-Legged Pentathalon in Squid Game.

The final fight in season one of Squid Game, where Gi-hun fights to the death with Sang-woo, was epic and heartbreaking, and it could make for a great fight in Mortal Kombat. Squid Game fans will love Mortal Kombat for many of its violent elements as well as the skill required to succeed.

Animal Crossing
If Squid Game has you stressed about debt, try Animal Crossing. The game is centered around debt, but it’s pretty chill about it. Gameplay is open, so you can pretty much do whatever you want on your own time.

Tom Nook wouldn’t last 30 seconds in Squid Game; however, in Animal Crossin,g he’s always lingering, requesting bells from you. The scariest character in Animal Crossing is Mr. Resetti. Even his lesson about saving before you quit feels like gentle guidance compared to the guards in Squid Game.

Among Us
Among Us is a fun game that is seemingly low-stress. However, it can get pretty intense. As players in this game, you are either crewmates or impostors. Crewmates are assigned tasks to complete, and they can win if they finish all the tasks, or if they find out who the impostors are.
This is a game based on social deduction, and about figuring out who is telling the truth versus who is just in it for themselves. Among Us players already start out knowing some of their fellow players are out to get them similar to Squid Game. Both games intensify as numbers shrink, and although players are sort of on teams, they are still wondering who around them could hurt them in the end.

Last of Us Part 1

Squid Game: Unleashed
According to Netflix, “Squid Game: Unleashed is the definitive Squid Game video game.” It is a great option for players, as it is as close as one can get to a direct video game remake of Squid Game.
You can play iconic games such as Red Light, Green Light, Glass Bridge, and Dalgona against other people online. Unlike the Squid Game show, you don’t even have to have a Netflix account to play, but like the show Squid Game, it is extremely popular. It’s a fun, easy-to-pickup game, and it does clearly look a lot like Squid Game; however, given its very simplistic gameplay and lack of replay value moving forward, it doesn’t get our top spot on the list.
1
Fortnite
Fortnite offers a wide range of characters, from young to old, and from highly animated to calm and reserved. In this Battle Royale, you launch into an open world, and you compete to be the last person or team standing, where you are alerted when fellow competitors are eliminated.
Fortnite is a much more detailed and comprehensive game than Squid Game: Unleashed, and it holds much stronger replay value, but if the two worlds were to blend, the combination would truly be “the definitive Squid Game video game.” Instead of completing quests, you would have to play Squid Game games in order to level up and make it further. There is an impending storm, similar to how in Squid Game, the game creators are always monitoring things, probably raising the stakes when it feels like things aren’t progressing fast enough. All in all, if you like watching Squid Game, you’ll love playing Fortnite as well as all of these games.
