Pokemon-like game Synth Beasts will be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2, developer-publisher Radhood has announced. The upcoming RPG is also planned to land on the Switch 2‘s predecessor and PC, as well as PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
Synth Beasts is an RPG with monster-taming mechanics in the vein of Pokemon. But it’s far from a Pokemon clone, as its big twist is that it has real-life combat, thus being an action RPG. Swiss studio Radhood initially revealed the game in May 2023.

Nintendo Switch 2 Mario Kart Game Seems To Feature a Big Improvement
The newly confirmed Mario Kart game for the Nintendo Switch 2 seems to feature a big improvement compared to its predecessor.
A day after the Switch 2 became official, Radhood announced that Synth Beasts will be coming to Nintendo’s new console. The move also saw the studio commit to a concrete release window for the game, stating that its monster-taming ARPG is targeting a Q2 2025 launch. The announcement was accompanied by a new trailer, comprising a mixture of already shared and previously unseen gameplay footage.
Synth Beasts Will Be Available On All Major Consoles and PC
Besides Nintendo’s upcoming console, the trailer reveals that Synth Beasts will also be available on the Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. That’s in addition to its PC version, which was already confirmed back in 2023. PC gamers can currently wishlist Synth Beasts on Steam, while the ARPG’s pages on other storefronts are yet to go live. Radhood is planning a Kickstarter campaign that will allow the community to get involved in the final stretch of the game’s development. The crowdfunding project will launch sometime in Q1 2025.
As for the game itself, Synth Beasts promises an open-world experience that mixes action-packed combat with exploration. The day-one version of the game will have around 40 monsters, all of which will have abilities that will help players traverse the environment. More creatures might be added at a later date, depending on the success of the upcoming Kickstarter campaign. Beating the game once will unlock a randomizer feature that’s meant to offer “infinite replayability.”
Nintendo Switch 2 Already Has Multiple Confirmed Indie RPGs
Synth Beasts coincidentally isn’t the first indie RPG that’s been announced for Nintendo’s upcoming console. That would be Bestiario, a Persona-like title that’s also the first-ever game to be confirmed for the Switch 2. But while Synth Beasts is already planned to materialize in Q2 2025, Bestiario is targeting a late 2026 launch. As for the Switch 2, the much-anticipated device is still without a release date, but with Nintendo scheduling device preview events all the way up to early June 2025, the console certainly won’t hit the market before then.
Nintendo Switch 2
The Nintendo Switch 2 is the successor to Nintendo Switch, scheduled for release in 2025. Confirmed as backwards compatible, it will play both physical and digital Nintendo Switch games. A full reveal is pencilled in for April 2, 2025.
