This was a pre-release promo card that wasn’t printed in large quantities. It’s quite difficult to obtain, especially in pristine condition. But for those fortunate enough to have one, they can expect to get close to $200.00 for an ungraded version of this card.

Set: Pokemon Silver Tempest

This Lugia card can be found inside Silver Tempest packs. This set was released in 2022, making it one of the newest card sets to be featured on this list. The card itself depicts Lugia diving into a swirling storm. It’s a very well-designed V card.

Not only that but for those who play Pokemon TCG, it’s a pretty powerful card to play. Collectors with a pristine copy of this card can sell it for around $617.00, which is pretty good considering it was only released a few years ago.

Set: Game Boy Promo Card

This promo card was only available for a brief period in 2001. It came as an unnumbered promo card inside copies of Pokemon Trading Card Game 2: The Invasion Of Team GR. This was a Japan-only Game Boy Color game. Since it was only available in Japan, the card can be hard to come by.

Set: Pokemon Neo Genesis

The English version of Neo Genesis was originally released in December 2000. This set featured some pretty familiar faces, including Lugia. The prices for this one vary wildly. According to PriceCharting, a PSA 10 copy of Lugia #9 sold for more than $32,000.00.

However, it’s unclear as to whether this was a one-off, since most estimates put this card between $150.00 and $1,680.00, depending on its grading. But no matter its value, it is a cool and very memorable card that many collectors will want to have in their binders.

Lugia #9 (1st Edition)

Set: Pokemon Neo Genesis

Just like many of the early Pokemon sets, before the unlimited prints were made, 1st edition variants were printed and sold in considerably smaller quantities. This makes them more valuable than their more common counterparts. This particular Lugia card is the same as the previous entry. Its only real difference is the first edition stamp on the left side of the card, along with some other small details.

A PSA 10 version of this card was recently sold at an auction for a whopping $50,000.00. It’s unclear whether this is an expected price since it was just one sale. However, PSA 9.5s go for around $3,600.00.

Japanese Meiji Promo Card

This promo card features two of the most popular characters from the series in an intense battle. The card was only available for a brief period in 2002, making it a very rare card. Fans could only find this card inside Meiki Chocolates, an iconic Japanese chocolate brand.

This makes them very rare. As for card quality, because they could be found inside packs of chocolate, there aren’t all that many pristine copies out there. Because of this, anyone fortunate enough to have a quality-graded version of this card can expect to receive as much as $5,000.
