PlayStation Twitter Account Mentions Bloodborne, Fans Beg For Remaster

Summary

  • Another PlayStation social media account has just acknowledged Bloodborne’s existence.
  • Fans use this as an opportunity to complain that the almost ten-year-old game is still only available on PS4.
  • Despite so many fans calling for a remake or remaster, it still doesn’t seem that there is one in development.

Bloodborne fans are a hopeful bunch. Despite years of silence, many of them firmly believe that one day, Bloodborne will be freed from its PlayStation 4 exclusivity, and be playable on PC. They don’t need much to sustain this spark of hope, so when there is something resembling evidence, they cling to it for as much as it’s worth.

Now, keeping all of that in mind, someone running PlayStation Germany’s Twitter account has made the shocking decision to actually acknowledge that Bloodborne exists. Better yet, the reference is phrased in such a way that some might see this as a tease for a port or remaster – something which is almost definitely not the case.

Fans are frustrated, begging for a remaster

As spotted over on r/GamingLeaksAndRumours, PlayStation Germany kicked this off by tweeting: “We say: Bloodborne. You say?” in a bid to engage with fans. Well, fans are certainly engaging. Many are using the opportunity to once again let their desire for a PC and PS5 port be known.

Others, however, have been down this road too many times. “Can’t do all this anymore…” replies one fan. “Don’t be cheeky now,” says another.

This isn’t the only reference we’ve had to Bloodborne. A few days ago, PlayStation included the game in its lineup of titles that are turning ten this year, because, you know, it is. Alas, it was enough for fans to get fired up again.

In any case, we shouldn’t get our hopes up. The former president of Sony Interactive Entertainment Worldwide Studios, Shuhei Yoshida, recently shed some light on why this project has never materialised – he believes that Hidetaka Miyazaki is just too busy. Perhaps with Elden Ring and Shadow of the Erdtree being out of the way now, that will change, but there’s no official word on a Bloodborne remake or remaster happening right now.
