Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 dev may ban people from forum for discussing politics

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is mere weeks away from its full launch. One of the most anticipated new RPGs of the year, it marks the return of Warhorse Studio’s beloved medieval adventure, and rejoins Henry in the 15th century as he embarks on a fresh series of quests throughout burgeoning Europe. Ahead of the release, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2’s creators have published a new code of conduct for people using the game’s Steam community pages, explaining that discussions of religion, politics, and other potentially contentious topics may result in being banned from the forums.

The Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 release date is almost here and, based on our own experience with the RPG so far, it seems to be something different than the “self-serious” medieval game that some players may expect. One of the most wishlisted games on Steam, according to its page on Valve’s store Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is rated PEGI 18 for violence, bad language, and depictions of drugs. The new code of conduct, published by Warhorse representative ‘PLAION_MY4NH,’ outlines a number of rules for discussions on the Steam forums.

“We are grateful for the vibrant and passionate discussions that take place here,” the representative writes. “Your love for this game and its immersive world has forged a unique and thriving community. To ensure that our forums remain a welcoming place for all, we are introducing a new set of community rules designed to maintain smooth moderation and foster meaningful, respectful discussions.

“We get it – this is a PEGI 18 game, and colorful language is part of the vibe. Occasional swearing is fine, but keep it reasonable. Excessive profanity, bigotry, sexism, racism, hate speech, sexual harassment, or threats will not be tolerated.”

The code of conduct tells users to “respect others” and explains that the forum’s moderators have “zero tolerance for discrimination.” It also explains that the forum is “not the place for modern political or religious discussions” and that there should be “no hate speech or harmful ideologies.” Warhorse also outlines potential penalties for users who do not follow its code of conduct.

“While our game may explore historical themes, this forum is not the place for modern political or religious discussions,” the developer says. “Discrimination in any form is strictly forbidden. We stand against all forms of hate speech and dangerous ideologies. This is a community for gaming, not political grandstanding or modern ideological debates. Civil disagreements are welcome, but respect must always prevail. If conversations devolve into personal attacks or hostility, they will be moderated accordingly.”

Warhorse says that the consequences for violations include “deleting posts of threads, locking threads, issuing warnings, [and] temporarily or permanently banning users from the forum.”
