How to Unlock All Weapon Types in Dynasty Warriors: Origins
Weapon Type |
How to Get |
---|---|
Sword |
Being the default weapon players will start with in Dynasty Warriors: Origins, there is nothing you need to do to unlock the Sword. As a starter weapon, the Sword is still more than capable of wiping out armies and is handy in a duel. Players should just make sure that they have the right Battle Arts equipped for maximum impact. |
Spear |
The Spear is the second weapon that players will unlock as part of the story. It becomes available once you compete the Battle of Guangyang in Chapter 1. Upon doing so, the game will instruct you to head to the store and pick up this weapon. The Spear is great for clearing crowds and dishing out focused damage on a single foe. It’s a great all-round weapon. |
Gauntlet |
If you currently do not possess the Gauntlet, it is likely that you did not manage to eliminate Zhou Cang in the Battle of Guangzong during Chapter 1. Pick it up by going after the officer, and you will unlock a new way of causing pain to your enemies. Different stances branch out into different attacks. As such, it will take some time to master this weapon, especially as you can fight and activate stances even quicker as you chain attacks. |
Wheels |
Found in the Suppression of You Province battle during Chapter 2, defeating either Zhang Ju or Qiliuju will see this weapon drop on the battlefield. The Wheels are an interesting weapon, requiring good timing and leaving you without a way to fight back after throwing them out. As such, it is more advisable to use this weapon at range and carve through the enemy that way. |
Podao |
Defeat all the officers that come your way in Subjugation of the White Wave Bandits in Chapter 2, and the Podao will be added to your arsenal. A heavy sword that requires two hands to wield, it hits hard but is slower in comparison to the other weapons. Players should prepare to take some hits when attacking, but the trade-off is more than worth it in the end. |
Staff |
Progress in the Assassination of Dong Zhuo battle, and eventually, you will find yourself in the castle. Locate the southwest chamber, and you can take down the officers who are there in order to obtain the Staff. The caveat here is that Lu Bu will be hot on your tails, so you need to be quick about the elimination in order to live to fight another day. The Staff is swift and fun to use in battle, allowing for quick combos that keep you moving. It doesn’t hit as hard, but the sheer speed makes up for it. |
Twin Pikes |
Head to the Battle of Hulao Gate in Chapter 2, and take down the imposing Zhang Liao in order to get the Twin Pikes. Best described as two heavy spears, it is predictably slower to wield, but it’s excellent for cutting down multiple enemies and even officers at once. Players should use its skills to control the crowd and go in for the kill after. |
Lance |
The Lance can be yours in the Battle of Xu Province during Chapter 3. Depending on your choice of allegiance, the way to get the weapon can vary in terms of the officer that needs to be defeated. Nevertheless, hunting down all the enemy officers will ensure that you get the Lance. As a more defensive weapon, players can use its range to attack with relative ease, and they can also use its skills to keep them in the pink of health during a battle. |
Crescent Blade |
Your best chance of emulating Guan Yu comes by obtaining the Crescent Blade in the Rescue of Emperor Xian. Players can wait for Jia Xu to arrive on the scene and then beat him in order to grab the weapon. The more enemies you attack with the weapon, the stronger it becomes, making it a great option for those who love charging in. |
Halberd |
Last but not least, we have the Halberd, which can only be obtained after you have cleared the story of Dynasty Warriors: Origins at least once. Following that, head to the Battle of Hulao Gate again, but this time, do so on Ultimate Warrior difficulty. Beat Lu Bu, and the most powerful weapon in Dynasty Warriors: Origins will be yours to use. |
