Every hero in Marvel Rivals has a unique playstyle, and when Spider-Man is concerned, it’s all about hitting combos with Spider-Tracers and being an absolute menace to the enemy’s backline. He’s one of the hardest characters to play in the game, though that also makes him one of the most satisfying heroes to use.
Playing as Spider-Man in Marvel Rivals involves a lot of technical skill, especially when it comes to using his Spider-Tracers. Here’s a quick guide going over how this part of his kit works as well as some other bits of info players might want to know.

Strategists are essential in the team composition in Marvel Rivals due to their ability to heal allies and deal lethal damage, but who is a must-have?
What Are Spider-Tracers in Marvel Rivals?
Spider-Tracers are a sort of status effect applied by Spider-Man’s alternate attack, Cyber-Web Cluster. When an enemy is hit by Spidey’s webs, they’ll receive a Spider Web mark on top of their health bar. If he hits an enemy marked by a tracer, they’ll take bonus damage.
Using Spider-Tracers is the bread and butter of Spider-Man’s playstyle. Since his base damage numbers are fairly low, players will need to tag enemies with tracers before hitting them with attacks. Doing so will significantly reduce Spider-Man’s TTK, making him one of the best duelists in Marvel Rivals for picking off squishy targets..
Some daily or event missions require players to trigger Spider-Tracers against enemies. Playing as Spider-Man can be tricky, but thankfully, such missions can be completed in Co-op vs. AI matches (unless otherwise specified).
Triggering Spider-Tracers
All players need to do is hit someone with a Cyber-Web Cluster shot and follow up with either Spider-Man’s basic attack or his Amazing Combo uppercut. Tracers cannot be triggered by his ultimate or Get Over Here skill. The latter will pull Spider-Man towards his target if they have a Spider-Tracer on them, but this move will not consume the tracer itself.
Triggering a Spider-Tracer deals approximately 45 extra damage to the target regardless of what attack triggers them. Venom, one of the best teammates for Spider-Man in Marvel Rivals, gives Spidey an extra ability that makes finishing off enemies even faster when combo’d with Spider-Tracers. Each tracer lasts for roughly three seconds, so you’ll want to get your combos out as quickly as possible before the mark disappears.
Spider-Man can store up to five Cyber-Web Cluster charges at a time, and each charge takes three seconds to return. Webs also deal 30 damage per hit, making them good for finishing off low-health targets.
General Usage Tips
- Cyber-Web Cluster projectiles are slow, so they’re best used in close range.
- Weave web clusters between punches to maximize your DPS.
- Spider-Man’s combos are fairly flexible, so try not to rely on just using one.
- Amazing Combo hits in a fairly large AOE, and it can trigger multiple tracers at once.
