The new Hitman World of Assassination Road Map is out, and it has been dubbed The Season of Luck by IO Interactive. The season runs from January 13 to March 31 2025, and the road map lays out the planned events for the next few months. It has been designed with a golden dragon aesthetic to match the free mission, which takes place on the Chongqing map and has Chinese Dragon-themed rewards.
This season has returning events from previous seasons to play with all the new goodies players have unlocked from other special events and DLC. There are also new items to unlock, and new featured contracts themed around Valentine’s Day.

With multiple games in the franchise, the Hitman games cover a spectrum of greatness.
The Lee Hong Derivation Event
Take Out The Triad
The Lee Hong Derivation is a returning escalation contract that takes place on the Chonqing map from the End of an Era Mission. It’s a callback to a mission in one of Hitman’s previous games, The Lee Hong Assassination in Codename 47. The escalation uses one of the few truly sniper-friendly landscapes in the World of Assassination, the rooftops from which players would have taken out the drones in End of an Era if they followed that story opportunity.
It follows the usual escalation pattern. 47 is tasked with a relatively simple objective, but in every stage of the escalation, things get more complex. If the player fails, they will go back to the start. Completing this mission unlocks The Black Dragon outfit, The Golden Dragon Sniper rifle, and the Chinese briefcase. It was previously only available to those with the Deluxe edition of the game, but will be available for free for those with the free base game between January 30 and February 27.
Returning Elusive Targets
The Heart Breaker
This is the first of the returning standalone elusive targets returning in the Season of Luck. The Heart Breaker is the code name for Philo Newcombe, a serial-killing wedding planner. Newcombe has a pattern of obsessing over a bride or groom to-be and killing off their partner. He is showing some of his clients Viñedo Yates on the Argentina map, and 47 must take him out before he can kill again.
Philo Newcombe is available via the arcade right now, but is returning as a standalone elusive target from February 14–23. His return is timed to coincide with Valentine’s Day. Hint: Get the engaged couple a safe distance away by exposing his obsessive behavior.
The Broker
The Broker is the code name for an antiquities collector named Howard Moxon who has been aiding terrorist organizations. This mission takes place on the Paris map, where Moxon is trying to steal the Ivory White from a safe in the Voltaire Suite.
47 must take out Howard Moxon and retrieve the Ivory White. Howard Moxon. He is currently available via the arcade, but is returning as a standalone elusive target from February 14–23. Hint: He partially isolates himself to smoke near the statue in the courtyard, but watch out for that pesky security guard at the barrier.
The Fixer
The Fixer is the code name for Xander Haverfoek, an “attaché at the Swedish Consulate in Marrakesh.” There is an additional objective of retrieving the bag of diamonds he is trying to smuggle to a courier. The Fixer takes place on the Marrakesh map and is notorious for being one of the hardest elusive targets ever released.

12 Ways To Kill Jean-Claude Van Damme In Hitman
Agent 47 is tasked with killing Jean-Claude Van Damme in Hitman: World of Assassination, and there are some rather brutal and creative ways to do it.
Xander Haverfoek is one of few elusive targets not in arcade mode, so his return to Hitman is a great opportunity for players who missed him the first time around. The Fixer is available as a stand-alone elusive target from February 28 to March 9.
The Collector
The Collector is the code name for Kody Haynes, a murderous art collector with a possessive fixation on his collection. He kills those that have previously owned any of his artworks. This mission takes place in Dartmoor, with the painting he is trying to steal being in Alexa’s office.
47 is also tasked with retrieving the painting. If he does before Haynes gets to it, the target will storm off. The Collector is available via the arcade but is returning as a standalone, elusive target from March 7–16. He is a unique character in World of Assassination as he can disguise himself to infiltrate the household, so be especially observant.
The Forger
The Forger is the code name for Sergei Larin, an art forger who has been replacing real artworks with fake ones. His wife, who owns the gallery that has been a victim of these forgeries, has hired the ICA to assassinate her husband.
Larin can be found on the Paris map and can be predictably found in the museum director’s office. The Forger is available via the arcade but is returning as a standalone elusive target from March 14–23. Hint: The Sheikh disguise will get players where they need to go.
Year 4 Galore
Elusive Target Reruns
Missed one of the targets the first time around? IO will give players who haven’t already failed or completed any Elusive Target missions up until this point a chance to catch up on any that they’ve missed. They will be made available in two batches.
Year 4 Galore 1-12 is available from January 17 to February 2, and includes The Serial Killer and The Gunrunner. Year 4 Galore 12-25 is available from January 24 to February 9, and includes The Entertainer and The Sensation.
Twitch Drops
Like Purple a Lot?
Hitman fans who link their IO account with their Twitch account can get drops from Hitman streamers who have registered for the event. The requirement is that players “Watch a cumulative 1 hour of HITMAN World of Assassination on Twitch between January 21 and January 30, 2025.”
Up for grabs is the Purple Streak Suit, the explosive Purple Streak Duck, the Purple Baseball Bat, and the Purple Streak Briefcase. IO are nothing if not on brand for a Twitch event, with 47 being able to wear the iconic Twitch purple. Like most of 47’s outfits, they won’t be for everyone. The white suit with purple shirt and white tie is a brave look for someone in such a bloody line of work.
New Items: Maneki-Hitman and Sky-High Voltage
Unlock A Little Bit of Chaos
For those that love the silly stylized explosive weapons in Hitman, there is a new edition arriving on January 30. The Proximity Lucky Cat Figurine can be unlocked as part of the Maneki-Hitman event which is linked to the Ambrose Island map in the promotional material. At this stage, it is a little vague as to what the event will involve.
On February 27, The Sky-High Voltage event starts, which will allow players to unlock an RFID (radio frequency identification device) triggered taser. It appears to be earned through completing two electrical kills, with players needing to “Spark a discussion with two targets to unlock a new item.” This remote taser could be incredibly useful in accident kill missions, depending on how it functions.
Featured Contracts
Single and Ready to Mingle
47 doesn’t have a great history with romance. Just look at his strange relationship with Diana. This is a Valentine’s Day-inspired list that lends a psychotic air to a holiday notorious for saccharin romantic cheesiness. Themed contract collections are usually a lot of fun, and that is in no small part due to the ridiculous justifications that the creators make to establish why on earth this contracted killing is romantic.
“Single and Ready to Mingle” is a list proposed by STREET SURG30N and features their contract “Sonko in Love at Night”. How much of a stretch will it be to call these contracts romantic? Only time will tell with the collection becoming available on January 30, 2025.
Death Atmosphere
Death Atmosphere is a series of contracts curated by the speedrunner Atmosphere. Not all player made contracts are good, some of them are downright terrible. For every ingenious re-purposing of a Hitman level, there is a mission that can be solved with a simple run and gun. That’s why collections like this can be so useful.
There are hundreds of contracts available to play and having the recommendations of an established Hitman player with extensive experience exploiting the eccentricities of the game will be interesting. This collection will be available starting February 27.
