Fallout Shelter: Best Vault Numbers

While vault numbers don’t seemingly affect gameplay in Fallout Shelter, there are a few cool vault numbers that are simply fun to use.

Exploration of the wasteland and questing is quite a large part of the gameplay in Fallout Shelter. There are a great many quests, from simple single task quests to incredibly long, multiple quest chain adventures. The best quests in this game generally provide excellent rewards upon completion. Therefore, every Fallout Shelter player is going to want to try and complete as many as they can in order to unlock the goodies that can be gained from them. That said, not all quests are as rewarding as others.

Updated on the January 17th, 2025, by Mac Wheeler: The original list contained the top quests in Fallout Shelter, the ones that give the best rewards. However, a few more quests have now been added. These new quests are all excellent and provide some great loot, including legendary pets and vault dwellers. These new quests are all a little easier to complete than the ones included on the original list, and stand out because they offer such great loot. Unfortunately, these new quests do have quite high prerequisite requirements, and only one of them can be started in the early game stage.

Quest Stages

  • Clearing a Path
  • Taking out the Trash
  • Heat of the Knight
  • In Shining Armor

Climbing The Ranks is a 4-part questline, and it offers some pretty good rewards for such a simple quest. It is one of the few quests that rewards theme recipe fragments. However, this is a quest that has some pretty tough combat, and this is reflected in the fairly high damage requirements for starting it.

A total of 4 rare outfits are awarded, 1 for each of the quest stages. The final quest stage also rewards the player with the legendary vault dweller Sarah Lyons.

  • Following His First Steps
  • Raider Troubles at Corvega
  • When Preston Calls
  • Kidnapping at Vault 778
  • A Settler Needs Your Help

A Settler Needs Your Help is a fairly easy 5-stage quest in Fallout Shelter. The quest is a call back to the line that Preston Garvey speaks in Fallout 4; “Another settlement needs your help.” As multipart quests go in Fallout Shelter, this one isn’t particularly tough. However, in order to complete all 5 parts, the player will need a team of level 50 vault dwellers.

From the perspective of loot, the player will receive some legendary loot and rare weapons by completing the whole quest chain. That said, it’s the 6,800 total caps payout that is the main reason to complete this series of quests as soon as possible.

Secret Agent Person

A Good Spread Of Loot

Secret Agent Person Quest

Quest Stages

  • Live Dead Drop
  • The Infiltration Game
  • Secret Weapon Test
  • Sabotage!
  • Dart of Harkness
  • Extreme Prejudice

Secret Agent Person is a 6-stage questline in Fallout Shelter. This is a great quest to start early on in the game, as the first stage only requires a single level 13 or higher vault dweller. However, the level requirement ramps up for each part, with the last segment needing a level 48+ vault dweller. The best idea is to complete each stage as the player gains access to the right level vault dweller.

What makes this questline so useful is the huge variety of rare crafting resources that are given out as quest rewards at each stage. Most stages give out legendary junk, and the final stage rewards the player with a pet carrier. Overall, this is a really useful questline to start as early as possible.

Fallout Shelter is a popular game, and most players will likely attempt this quest at some stage. The Detective Case Files quest in Fallout Shelter can be found under the miscellaneous category. During this quest, the player will need to search for certain clues and evidence. Progression is linear, and each of the 5 parts of this quest offers fairly decent rewards.

Fallout Shelter: Best Armor, Ranked

Armor has always been important in the Fallout franchise, and Fallout Shelter is no different in that regard. Here are the best ones available.

The main item gained from completing this quest is the Detective Outfit. This is an excellent legendary outfit with +4 boosts to perception, endurance, intelligence, and luck stats. There is also a chance the player will loot some legendary junk along the way. Overall, this is a great outfit to equip vault dwellers with for basic questing and wasteland exploration.

Two mascots are given as a reward for completing the Nabbed from Nuka-World quest. These mascots provide certain vault-wide buffs, such as +20% to the happiness of all vault dwellers. This makes it well worth trying to get this quest done.

Fallout Shelter: 9 Best Outfits For Exploring The Wasteland

Outfits in Fallout Shelter can be crafted or earned through quests, with each giving a dweller stat boosts that will help them survive the wasteland.

Players shouldn’t expect to complete the entire Horsemen of the Post-Apocalypse series quickly; it will take quite some time to get through all three parts, but it is well worth the effort. Even the first stage has some excellent rewards, with the massive 4000 cap reward at the end being the best of these.

Quest Stages

  • Parley Time
  • Crime Scene Investigation
  • Death Revealed?
  • Give me Liberty and/or Death
  • Operation: Sandman
  • Release the Raiders!
  • Notable rewards: Legendary pet

It is very hard to cover this epic quest chain without giving out spoilers, even the names of the quest stages give the game away somewhat. However, the second part of the Horsemen of the Post-Apocalypse questline is exceptionally well crafted. The player will make some startling discoveries and visit some cool locations as part of it, too.

The quest rewards at each stage are excellent, but it is the pet carrier awarded at the end of the quest series that is the best, as it contains a legendary pet. During this quest series, the player will discover one of the classic vaults from Fallout canon.

These are the final segments of the three interlinked Horsemen of the Post-Apocalypse quest chains. This is a tough quest to complete, but it provides some of the best item rewards of all of the quests in Fallout Shelter. Once again, this is a quest series that is going to take quite some time to complete.
