There’s Never Been A Better Time To Start Watching Anime

Crunchyroll has hundreds of shows on offer at any given time, so there’s likely something for everyone!

That said, if you were hoping to go through the entirety of the Bleach storyline from the Substitute Arc to the Thousand-Year Blood War, then you’ll be out of luck. Because after previously being rumored, it’s been confirmed that the game’s story mode will only go up to the Arrancar Arc, the manga’s third canon storyline.

Information about what will be covered comes by way of a new Systems Overview trailer that was released on Thursday. As a result, the likes of the Fullbringer Arc and the Lost Shinigami Arc won’t be covered.

The Thousand-Year Blood War Will Be DLC

According to information obtained by Gematsu, the main story mode won’t be the only thing players can experience. On top of going through the end of the Arrancar Arc, there will be a separate Secret Story mode that will tell the story of the main characters, while Side Episodes will focus on daily life. The alternate story mode was first discovered back in December.

While it may be disappointing to have over half the anime not covered, it’s not like the Thousand-Year Blood War won’t have any representation at all. The end of the trailer revealed that the game’s Season Pass will focus on the TYBW Arc, with an additional four characters set to join the fold. There’s no word if that will also include story content or simply additional playable characters.

That particular tidbit has had mixed reception online. “Without a Fullbring Arc, why even skip that far except to cash in on the anime?” one user wrote in part. “I really hope they do make a sequel because that’s kinda meh to me.” Elsewhere, the presence of TYBW stuff had people affirming their preorders as “worth it.”
