Baldur’s Gate 3 is a Dungeon and Dragons-based RPG. Players can create their own characters and delve deep into the world of Faerun. Numerous choices await the player, from who to help and who to betray, who to get for their team, and who to romance. One of the several possible romanceable characters in Baldur’s Gate 3 is Minthara, a Drow Paladin who can either become a friend or a foe depending on the player’s choices. Players first come across this lady elf during the Shattered Sanctum in Act 1 In this guide, we’ll show you how to romance Minthara in Baldur’s Gate 3.

Minthara Romance Guide:
Unfortunately for players, romancing Minthara has some pretty big consequences for their party. If players want Minthara, they will have to betray the Tieflings and the Druids and side with the Goblin army. This will cause a lot of problems between the main character and Wyll and Halsin.
This romance isn’t possible unless the player is ready to make a whole lot of somewhat evil decisions, but for some, it might be worth it in the end.
When entering the Shattered Sanctum, players will need to use their wits to avoid getting into any fights with goblins or hobgoblins along the way. Once players meet up with Minthara, they need to avoid saying anything about killing her, give her the location of the Grove, and agree to help with her raid of the Druids Grove. Join her and the goblins to take down the Tielfings and Druids.
If you are playing as the Durge, be careful not to sound too excited about wiping out the Emerald Grove. Minthara is ruthless, but she is all about the Absolute. Doing this for the joy of killing is seen as excessive to her.
When given the option, choose the first option: Obey and open the gate for Minthara and her goblin army.
Once the Druids Grove has been destroyed, players can return to the Secluded Chamber. Minthara will be there, and she will agree to meet the player at their camp.
At camp, when speaking to her, tell her, “Yes, I’m yours, Minthara.” Then, that night, when players click on their Bedroll
, they can choose to spend time with Minthara.
Select “Do as she says” for the next prompt. After that, choose “I want you.” This will lead to a prolonged romantic encounter away from camp. After the encounter, you will have the opportunity to speak to Minthara free of the Absolute’s hold. You can be honest here, as Minthara seems as least partially willing to open up. However, no amount of piety or honesty will stop what happens next.
After returning to your bed, Minthara will sneak up on the player and attempt to attack them. There appears to be a variety of different ways the ensuing conversation can be, but one thing remains clear: to stop the attack, you must pass a Skill Check. If you pass the check, Minthara will not attack. She will instead leave for Moonrise Tower, where she tells you to meet her. She also provides a means of crossing the Shadow Curse now that Halsin is unavailable. This leads into Act 2.
Romance Minthara in Act 2 – Baldur’s Gate 3
When you get to Moonrise Tower in Act 2, you will discover Ketheric Thorm has captured Minthara. You can free her to recruit her as part of your party. This will allow you to continue your relationship into Act 2.
How to Romance Minthara in Act 2 – Good Playthrough:
With the most recent patches, it is now possible to recruit and romance Minthara without betraying the Emerald Grove. This requires the following steps:
- When you reach the Shattered Sanctum, remain neutral until you reach MInthara.
- Speak to Minthara and convince her you’ll help her clear out the Emerald Grove.
- Once this is done, attack her with Non-Lethal Attacks. Make sure she is marked as Temporarily Hostile. Do not kill any of the other enemies in the chamber while Minthara is still conscious.
- Once she is knocked out, you can go about freeing Halsin and defeating the remaining True Souls. You will be treated as if you never agreed to help Minthara.
- When you arrive at Moorise Tower in Act 2, follow the directions as outlined in the above link. It will play out the same as if you romanced Minthara in Act 1. You must pose as True Souls to enter the tower, then help Minthara escape.
- Once Minthara is in your party, make sure to take her with you everywhere. Minthara will approve of hostility, strength, and generally anything lacking compassion or kindness. It will take a while, but you can still go through the same process of romancing her starting from Act 2. The scene will play out exactly the same once she approaches you to instigate it.
