Gojo just received a new illustration from Gege. Here’s why.
Out of all the new characters, the ones that shocked the fans the most were, undoubtedly, the grandchildren of Yuta Okkotsu. No fan of the story was expecting such a massive timeskip in JJK, and surely nobody was expecting Yuta’s grandchildren to be revealed in the epilogue chapter. But, now, these characters are well and truly a part of the story, which makes things very exciting moving forward in JJK. Given that they have the blood of Yuta Okkotsu, they’re bound to be incredibly powerful.
Yuta And Maki’s Grandchildren Revealed In JJK
- In 2080, Yuta and Maki’s Grandchildren Are Shown
- Yuta And Maki Are Unfortunately Not Revealed
Jujutsu Kaisen’s Epilogue chapter focused on multiple characters throughout the JJKverse. Fans got to see the epilogue open with Ozawa and Yuji, and this part took up the most pages, which is to be expected, given that it focused on the protagonist of the series. But, immediately following this part of the epilogue was the Panda epilogue. Needless to say, not many fans were excited to know more about Panda and would’ve preferred for the author to have focused on someone else instead. However, when they found out that the Panda epilogue revealed key information about Yuta and the Gojo clan, the opinion shifted rather quickly. It was revealed that in 2035, Panda officially stopped functioning and he was then stored in the Gojo Clan storage facility. This was made possible by none other than Yuta Okkotsu, who, by this time, had become the acting head of the Gojo clan, much to the surprise of everyone.
Are you seriously Yuta’s grandchildren? You lack proper manners! – Panda
What’s more, in the year 2080, it was revealed to the fans that Yuta had grandkids, and they were messing about in the Gojo clan storage room, where they came across Panda, along with other stuff that Yuta considers to be his treasures. Yuta’s grandchildren were revealed to the fans by Panda, when he momentarily started functioning again, only to be shocked by the nature of Yuta’s grandchildren. It wasn’t revealed to the fans whom Yuta had kids with, but just one look at the faces of the grandchildren was enough to tell the fans that Yuta had married none other than Maki.
The Powers Of The Grandchildren
Yuta’s Grandchildren were focused on quite a bit in the epilogue chapter of JJK. Much to the surprise of the fans, one of them looked like the exact copy of Megumi, given that he shares the same clan as Maki, and the other looked just like Yuta. Given that they’re the grandchildren of two of the most powerful characters in the JJK verse, it is no surprise to know that they hold tremendous potential within them. Strength can often be passed down, as has been the case in the major clans of JJK and even in individuals such as Yuji Itadori. Fans are, naturally, curious to know what level of power and potential the grandchildren have inside them.
The granddaughter, in particular, who appears to be the younger of the two siblings, is confirmed to hold a special power that was once beloved to Yuta Okkotsu, and that is the power of the Queen of Curses and a mighty cursed spirit, Rika.
The Power Of Rika
As fans know, Yuta gains access to the power of Rika through his ring. When Rika is fully manifested, Yuta can utilize the Copy Technique, along with much else, such as Domain Expansion. In the year 2080, the ring that Yuta used to use is revealed to have officially been passed on to Yuta’s granddaughter.

Jujutsu Kaisen: Adult Megumi’s Full Strength, Explained
Megumi never got to explore his full potential in JJK. Adult Megumi’s full strength would be interesting to see.
She wears the ring as a necklace around her neck, which means that Yuta had entrusted this ring to his children and his children entrusted it to theirs. As such, Rika has essentially become the protector of the family and just the power of the Queen of Curses alone makes the granddaughter very powerful. Of course, it is highly unlikely for her to be in full control of the power of Rika as a child, but what matters is the potential and that’s certainly present in abundance.

The Connection To Michizane no Sugawara
Another interesting thing to note here is that Yuta’s grandchildren, through him, will have blood ties to Michizane no Sugawara. This was one of the most dangerous Vengeful Spirits in the JJK world once whom both Gojo and Yuta share a connection to. He was likely very powerful and his power was inherited among his descendants, both Gojo and Yuta. As such, both Yuta’s grandchildren will have the same boost in power from Michizane Sugawara as Gojo and Yuta, which makes it quite exciting, to say the least. More specifically, the implication in the story is that Gojo and Yuta have a massive pool of cursed energy due to being related to him. As such, fans can expect the grandchildren to have tremendous cursed energy as well.
The Connection To The Fujiwara Family
It must be remembered that Yuta’s bloodline bears connections to not just the Fujiwara but also to the Sugawara. These were elite sorcerers who existed during the Heian era and made quite a name for themselves from the sorcerers. Takako Uro, a member, clearly implied that Yuta had Fujiwara blood in him, which is what makes him so strong. As such, Yuta’s grandchildren are likely to have the Fujiwara blood as well, making them doubly special.
The Connection To The Zenin And The Potential For A Powerful Ability
Finally, there exist the powers of the Zenin Clan too. Given that Maki is the mother of these children, they’re both members of the Zenin Clan, in principle, though the clan itself is extinct. That said, they could easily carry their techniques, such as the Ten Shadows Technique, provided Megumi is dead. Or, they could have other powerful abilities up their sleeve. Regardless, being members of the Zenin bloodline does give them quite a tremendous boost, and if nothing, then they’d certainly have inherited a superior body from their mother, making them monster in combat, potentially.
If JJK ever continues, fans will most definitely want to see a story centered around these two kids as their strength and potential are worth witnessing in the future.
Jujutsu Kaisen’s last chapter, JJK 271, was finally released on September 29, 2024. Fans can read the series on the Manga Plus and the Shonen Jump apps.
