In fact, it seems far more likely that Zoro would fight Luffy in this situation, questioning why he would give this kind of order in the first place.

Next, while it has been confirmed that Zoro has killed one character before the events of One Piece, he is far from a murderer. Although he seems to attack his foes with lethal force, none of them die from his strikes. Whether this is due to the fact that Zoro holds back on his final strike to not kill his foes, or the fact that One Piece is a series for all ages to enjoy, killing a Straw Hat on Luffy’s behalf seems incredibly out of character for Zoro.

With all this being said, Zoro would act on his own in this situation and wouldn’t need an order from Luffy to seek out revenge. In the end, Zoro would never kill another One Piece Straw Hat crew member if Luffy ordered him to, as doing so is incredibly out of character for the swordsman. While Zoro is loyal, he’s not a mindless drone who follows Luffy’s every whim. He is a fully fleshed-out character with his own moral code that he sticks to. So far in One Piece, most of the time, this moral code lines up perfectly with Luffy’s.
