According to leaker PH Brazil, the next Nintendo Direct will take place in February 2025. Presumably, the February 2025 Nintendo Direct will focus on upcoming games for the original Switch console, of which there are still some notable first-party games in the pipeline like Metroid Prime 4: Beyond and Pokemon Legends: Z-A. This February 2025 Nintendo Direct has been hinted at in the past, with claims that it will primarily feature third-party games, as Nintendo looks to its partners to bolster the original Switch’s 2025 lineup while it turns its attention to the Switch 2.
Nintendo Direct Rumored for February 2025
Besides Metroid Prime 4: Beyond‘s release date and more news on Pokemon Legends: Z-A, it’s hard to guess what might be featured at the February 2025 Nintendo Direct. Rumor has it that Ubisoft has more Switch ports planned, so those could be featured, but there are a couple of older games that fans are still holding out hope for on the OG Switch.
It’s long been believed that Switch versions of Metroid Prime 2 and 3 are basically done and waiting to be released, and fans have long assumed that the HD remasters of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker and Twilight Princess are on deck for the OG Switch as well. With the February 2025 Nintendo Direct likely being the last one until the April 2025 Switch 2 Direct, it’s possible these long-rumored projects will finally be announced. Then again, they may be transferred to the Switch 2 or may never see the light of day at all, so fans should certainly keep those possibilities in mind.
Besides a Nintendo Direct in February, it’s also highly likely that a Pokemon Presents event will take place on February 27. If Pokemon Legends: Z-A no-shows the Direct, fans should keep an eye out for it during the Pokemon Presents.
