How to Get and Use Wishful Resin in Honkai: Star Rail

Farming for a perfectly-rolled relic in Honkai: Star Rail has always been an issue for players, but with the introduction of Wishful Resin in the 3.0 Amphoreus update, getting a god roll has never been easier. This new material can shave a lot of time and disappointment off of relic farming, making it invaluable for players who are sick of dealing with bad luck.

However, such a valuable resource doesn’t come cheap, and as long as the roster of HSR characters is continuously growing, the relic grind will never truly be over. If you’re looking to get some Wishful Resin for yourself, here’s what you need to do.

Best Way to Get Wishful Resin in Honkai: Star Rail

Crafting Wishful Resin in HSR

There are a few ways to get Wishful Resin, and if you’re looking for a method that’s free and convenient, your best bet is to synthesize Wishful Resin using Relic Remains. For those who don’t know, you can dismantle unwanted relics via the Omni-Synthesizer, which you can access by doing the following:

  1. Open the pause menu.
  2. Select Inventory.
  3. Go to the Relic tab.
  4. Press Salvage at the bottom.

Each Wishful Resin costs 800 Relic Remains to craft, which roughly translates to 80 gold relics in total. You can only craft up to two Wishful Resins using Relic Remains, and if you want to craft more, you’ll either have to wait for the next month’s reset, or use Self-Modeling Resin instead. Players can craft up to three additional Wishful Resins per month if they use Self-Modeling Resin.

Battle Pass Rewards

If using up Relic Remains and Self-Modeling Resin isn’t an option, then players can get a free Wishful Resin simply by reaching level 50 on the battle pass. Premium pass owners can get another Wishful Resin upon reaching level 20.

Herta Contracts

For those who really want to get as much Wishful Resin as possible, you can get even more by purchasing Herta Contracts using Oneiric Shards, the same premium currency used to buy Stellar Jades in HSR (among other things).

It costs 2680 Oneiric Shards to purchase the large contract bundle (Strategic Cooperation), and this will let you choose up to three items from its list of offerings, and it includes 10 Star Rail Special Passes as well. Meanwhile, the small contract bundle (Strategic Support) lets players select only two items.

How to Use Wishful Resin in HSR

crafting a relic with Wishful Resin in HSR

Players use Wishful Resin the same way they use Self-Modeling Resin to make custom relics in Honkai: Star Rail.

  1. Open the pause menu.
  2. Select Synthesize.
  3. Navigate to the Relic Crafting tab.
  4. Select a relic to craft.
  5. Click on the Customized Synthesized option.
  6. Select a Main Stat and at least one substat.

Custom relic synthesis always requires one Self-Modeling Resin. You can select up to two substats, but this increases the Wishful Resin cost to 4.
