However, fans seemingly loved it because the audience gave it 86% score for its Popcornmeter. Those who ardently followed the franchise approved it because it closely followed the source material. Overall, the movie was a success and two films are on the way, with the sequel coming up later this year.

Scott Games released four screenplay pages for Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 as part of its 10th anniversary.

An FNAF fan who posts about the franchise’s movies and games recently shared a positive update about the upcoming films. According to them, Blumhouse will begin filming Five Nights at Freddy’s 3 six months after the second movie is released. FNAF 2 will hit theaters in December 2025, so the third film will begin filming in mid-2026. The insider added that the production is “looking at a potential 2027 release.” FNAF 3 is reportedly likely to be released in the latter part of the year. However, the insider warned fans to take the report with “a heavy grain of salt” because things could still change. “I’ve been told this exclusively by somebody who I trust but, still, take this with a heavy grain of salt and keep in mind things can change since it’s in very early pre-production stages,” the source added.

The news received several responses from fans, with many expressing delight and joy because the wait for the third movie will not be that long. Some are already very excited about the anticipated FNAF movies. However, some also expressed concerns because the target release window falls in the same year when other big movies like The Batman Part II, Avengers: Secret Wars, and Sonic the Hedgehog 4 are expected to hit theaters. “Bad idea. Sonic 4 is gonna wreck it unless they released it 2 months before [or] after,” one commented. However, many were excited about the announcement and thrilled that the films they loved would be released in the same year. “Sonic 4 and FNAF 3?? Oh this is good,” another wrote.

There’s no official announcement about Five Nights at Freddy’s 3. However, one of its cast members Matthew Lillard, previously said in an interview that he had a three-picture deal with Blumhouse and Universal for the said franchise. It’s safe to assume that FNAF 3 is happening. Fans love the first FNAF movie because of its faithful adaptation of the source material. It also effectively adds a nostalgic element by including the 1980s music tracks in the film, like The Romantics’ Talking in Your Sleep and Kool & The Gang’s Celebration. The audience also loved how it balanced the horror elements and the humor to make the movie campy and fun at the same time. Fans have been talking about FNAF 2. Last week, snaps from the set leaked on social media, revealing the new pizzeria sign, and it hyped ardent followers who could not wait for the sequel.
