Steam Deck owners have been curious about being able to take Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth with them on the go, and now Square Enix has confirmed that the game is indeed verified for Valve’s portable gaming system. This announcement was made in a recent press statement, with Square Enix assuring fans that they will be able to play FF7 Rebirth anywhere they like thanks to the Steam Deck. Footage of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth running on the console was shared on the official Final Fantasy 7 Twitter account, showing a brief snippet of the game’s early flashback sequence in Nibelheim.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Will Run on Steam Deck

Playing Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth on a beefier desktop rig allows players to run the game at its full graphical limits, which were shown off in a trailer posted around the same time that FF7 Rebirth was officially verified for Steam Deck. When playing on a supportive system, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth features three graphic presets: the 1920×1080 resolution Minimum that runs at 30 FPS, the Recommended setting that features the same resolution at 60 FPS, and the Ultra setting that pushes things to the limit with a 3840×2160 resolution at 60 FPS.
