Black Ops 6 Zombies’ Best Season 2 Content Might Not Even Be The Tomb

Black Ops 6 Zombies' Best Season 2 Content Might Not Even Be The Tomb

Fans are finally starting to get some comprehensive information regarding the next in-game season of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, with Season 2 being set to launch on January 28. With the player count for the Treyarch-led title recently taking quite a dip and the game finding itself in the middle of some concerning AI-based controversies, this news could not have come at a better time for the release, as it will hopefully be able to stabilize itself and move forward.

While the in-game seasons for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 are expected to involve fresh content that is spread across the game’s modes as well as Warzone, it seems as if BO6‘s Zombies mode is at the center of Season 2’s most exciting additions. Of course, a lot of attention is already being placed on the recently revealed new map for Zombies that will launch alongside Season 2, called The Tomb, as it is releasing far sooner than many had expected. However, a massive range of quality of life updates are arguably the most exciting part of the upcoming content drop, as they will permanently improve the experience of the entire Zombies mode.

Activision confirms that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’s Directed mode has been a notable success for the Zombies community as a whole.

Some Great Improvements Are On the Horizon For Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies

This attention to Zombies on Treyarch’s part could have been spurred by the massive recent controversy regarding the replacement of Zombies voice actors due to AI, with many long-term demands from the community being met by Season 2’s upcoming changes to perhaps dial down the heat of the conversations that currently surround the mode. Alongside the upcoming Tomb map, Treyarch announced that come Season 2, players will finally be able to:

  • Track challenges in-game in Season 2
  • Set different HUD presets between Zombies and standard multiplayer
  • Pause in multiplayer lobbies

This will do well to create even more distinction and personalization between Black Ops 6‘s modes, with the challenge tracker being a long-requested feature that will make the management of the title’s numerous and often highly-specific challenges much easier. The confirmation that Season 2 of Black Ops 6 will finally allow multiplayer co-op Zombies matches to be paused is massive, with a party’s host player soon having the power to give all players a much-needed break in grueling and demanding games.

Some Upcoming Zombies Changes Have Been a Long Time Coming

The final upcoming quality of life feature that Treyarch has announced for Black Ops 6‘s Season 2 is the ability for players to re-join a match with their complete loadouts after being kicked for inactivity. The controversial always-online nature of Black Ops 6 means that players get quickly kicked from matches after brief periods of inactivity to ease pressure on the game’s servers, and this often led to players losing out on things like perks, essence, and upgraded weapons when they eventually re-join.

All of these prior problems will now be a thing of the past thanks to Season 2, with Treyarch ticking off a huge amount of wishlist features that fans have been requesting since Black Ops 6 launched in October 2024. While it is clear that there are still some pressing and concerning issues that are marring the enjoyability of Black Ops 6, such as the aforementioned AI controversy, the upcoming changes to Zombies seem like an excellent way to boost the reception of The Tomb and Season 2 as a whole.
