Shining Force Games Ranked Worst To Best
There are loads of entries in this iconic RPG series, but which one is the best?
Since Supercell’s titles cover several genres, we looked at a range of criteria when putting together our ranking. We’ve taken into account popularity, reviews, gameplay, and frequency of updates, as well as looking at how each game plays when compared to similar titles. Every game on this list is free-to-play, but you can boost your progression by spending money. Free-to-play players can get everything in the game, though it will take more time.

Squad Busters
Squad Busters is similar to Supercell’s previous title, Brawl Stars. It targets the MOBA and RPG genres with multiple game modes, including gem collection, battle royale, and team deathmatch. There are also 39 heroes to select, upgrade, and play with. It will be necessary for you to evolve your heroes, or you won’t be able to win against other players. Similar to Brawl Stars, we have categories like attackers, defenders, and healers. Forming a balanced team is the way to go here.
The unique thing about Squad Busters is that it features characters from other Supercell games, including Clash of Clans, Boom Beach, and Hay Day. This offers a neat insight into some of the developers’ other creations. However, Squad Busters can find itself overshadowed by Brawl Stars, which has been around for much longer.

Boom Beach
- Released: March 26, 2014
- Platforms: Android and iOS
Boom Beach is still one of the best RTS games out there, despite being around since 2014. You start on your own island, which you’ll develop by constructing and upgrading your buildings and defenses. The next step will be to expand your dominance across the sea and take over as much area as you can by defeating the evil Blackguard. As you progress, new buildings and troops are unlocked, making your army even more powerful. You can play solo or join a Task Force and work with other players.
Unfortunately, Boom Beach doesn’t receive as many updates as other Supercell games. Progress can also be very slow at times, since you can only build one structure at a time without spending money. However, Boom Beach is still very much playable, despite the slow pace.
4
Hay Day
- Released: June 21, 2012
- Platforms: Android and iOS
While other Supercell titles can require intense strategies, Hay Day is the kind of game where you can just relax and enjoy the experience. You’ll be growing crops, making goods to sell to others, rearing animals, and other farm duties. Your farm will expand as you progress, and new crops, animals and buildings will be unlocked. You can also join a neighborhood and visit the farms of your friends and trade resources with them.
Hay Day has the perfect pace, and you won’t have to overthink anything. Although the game doesn’t receive many updates, it still gets a few, and new buildings, animals, and events are still being added to the game. If you want a relaxing game where you don’t have to think much, Hay Day is one of the best farming games on mobile.

Clash Royale
Clash Royale is the real-time multiplayer card-game version of Clash of Clans. In Clash Royale, you’ll build a deck of eight different cards, go up against an opponent, try to destroy their tower, and take over their territory while protecting your own. There are many cards to unlock as you progress, and all of them can be almost endlessly upgraded, if you have enough cards and gold.
The game is regularly updated with new cards, game modes, arenas, and events. But since there are hundreds of cards with so many upgrade options, there is a big pay-to-win aspect to the game. You can easily get new cards and evolve much faster by paying money, which is frustrating for free-to-play players.
However, Clash Royale does have new cards and evolution which are awarded for game progression and participating in events, although it does take a lot of grinding. There are also occasional events offering free items as well.

Brawl Stars

December 12, 2018
Brawl Stars is a unique take on the battle-royale genre and features multiple other modes to keep the players engaged. In Brawl Stars, you control a brawler in several different 3v3 modes including Gem Grab, Basket Brawl, Heist, and Bounty. There’s also the battle-royale where you can participate solo or with others.
Brawlers have multiple classes based on roles, including attacker, defender, or tank, and they can be upgraded up to level 11. You can also equip gear and gadgets by unlocking them and making the brawler even more powerful.
Brawl Stars features monthly updates, and every new season brings new events, brawlers, skins, and more. New content as well as the diversity of game modes and different classes to try, help keep the experience entertaining. The game also frequently gives free rewards to active players, which can significantly boost progression.

Clash Of Clans
Clash of Clans has been around since 2012, and still receives consistent updates due to its popularity. You’ll start your journey in a small village and have to construct and upgrade your town hall, troops, and buildings to progress and keep up with other players. The best way to grow your base is by attacking the bases of others and looting them for supplies.
You can join a clan and help your friends, including by deploying your troops for them. Each clan will make its own strategy, but a good starting point is to loot smaller clans to improve yours and then take on the larger ones. There even are dedicated Clan Wars for this, which you can participate in.
Clash of Clans receives monthly updates, which bring new events and skins. Some bigger updates have even come with additional building levels and a level upgrade for the Town Hall. The upgrading and building process can be slow at times, but magic items will help you shorten it. All in all, Clash of Clans requires high-level strategy and base building, making it a solid choice for fans of the genre.
