Apex Legends is hosting a Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth-themed limited-time event: The Lunar Rebirth Collection Event. Respawn shared the news in a new event trailer posted to its YouTube channel.
The Lunar Rebirth Collection Event trailer features Apex’s various Legends donning fashionable Midgardian cosmetic skins, including Crypto as Cloud, Wraith as Tifa, Horizon as Aerith, and Wattson as an adorable Moogle. In all, there are 36 Final Fantasy-themed cosmetics to collect, plus 24 Collection Event Skins.
This isn’t the the first time Apex has hosted a Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth event–Respawn hosted a similar event in early 2024. Like the previous event, Lunar Rebirth event will see the return of Apex’s Final Fantasy-themed limited-time mode, which features various types of Materia that players can collect to give their Legend special powers and abilities. Additionally, the iconic a Buster Sword will once again join the loot pool to help players cut down their enemies.
Players who unlock all 24 of the event’s exclusive Collection Event cosmetics will earn Alter’s new Voidsnake Prestige Skin, but the event also includes a free reward track full of loot for player who are low on Apex Coins.
The Lunar Rebirth Collection Event launches on January 21 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET.
