Running between 12PM EST on January 16 and 3PM EST on January 20, you’ll be digging your way through 20 levels of Greek Treasures, so we sure hope you’ve been collecting extra Greek Treasures picks! There’s a new board token and shield skin, and plenty of new stickers to earn this weekend.

How To Play Greek Treasures

Collect Pickaxes From Other Events

Before you can head out to help Sofia dig, you’ll need to earn pickax tokens elsewhere in Monopoly Go. You’ll earn them from things like:

• Competing in the center banner events, the ones displayed just below your current cash total. There are 62 milestones instead of the usual 50 in the first of them for the duration of the event, Rich Exhibit, and plenty offer free Greek Treasures picks.
• Competing in the daily leaderboard tournaments displayed off to the right along with the Greek Treasures icon and any active flash events you might have, which usually offer dig event pickaxes as milestone rewards.
• Completing your daily quick win goals when they refresh at 8AM EST, tasking you with three simple gameplay tasks that pay out with cash, free dice rolls, and even sticker packs in addition to extra Greek Treasures picks.
• Grabbing your in-game store reward, the one in the shop in the top left corner that refreshes every eight hours to offer rewards similar to those listed above.
• As rewards for finishing levels of the event, with Sofia occasionally offering a handful of picks as prizes in addition to cash, dice, and stickers.
• Occasionally finding them as you dig in Greek Treasures, since some tiles might just be hiding a single pick, offering what’s essentially a refund for the one you spent.

Use Pickaxes To Dig For Treasure

Once you have some pickaxes on hand, click into the Greek Treasures event screen to begin using one pickax to clear a one-by-one tile of dirt, helping Sofia as she excavates all manner of ancient Greek discoveries! We’ve got 20 levels in this event, but you’ll also have the construction moles around to help occasionally clear some rows or columns for you when you find them.

Finding every piece of treasure on a game board means that level is complete, and you’ll earn the rewards shown on the meter on the top for that level’s reward in Greek Treasures. Not only is there a new shield skin you can earn that’s fit for a Greek guard, but there’s also a new board token called Exalted Scottie, with everyone’s favorite boy dressed in his best golden toga and headpiece. These levels tend to have the largest pieces to excavate, though, so you’ll need all the Greek Treasures picks you can get.

Along the way, you’ll also be earning some of the first sticker packs you’ll be getting to kick off the new Artful Tales sticker season with a bang! There are five sticker packs ranging from pink to purple in rarity for you to earn during Greek Treasures this weekend in Monopoly Go, as well as hundreds of free dice rolls and plenty of cash payouts.
