Kaalaa Baunaa Skills, Explained – Reverse: 1999
Kaalaa Baunaa is essentially a Black Dwarf, a star in the celestial system that is gravitationally strong enough to wipe out everything in its way. This 6-star Mental Afflatus character is known for her immense damage output but slow carry. Unlike many other Ultimate-oriented characters, Kaalaa Baunaa does not generate her own Moxie, and this means she uses up alot of Action Points (AP) when her turn hits. Despite this, her unique ability to buff herself generates a lot of set-up potential in her kit, and this is especially true when you keep increasing her Insight.
There is no niche Carry character like Kaalaa, and that’s purely because of her skill to stack on herself, gaining more layers of [Saturn], which in turn grants her ‘Penetration Rate’ until her Ultimate grants her Incantation Might. It is vital to know that this skill can be recast depending on the Insight level. Though she does have a ridiculously high damage ceiling, she’s picky with her teammates because of her AP-greedy playstyle.
Best Psychubes For Kaalaa Baunaa In Reverse: 1999
Unfortunately, Kaalaa Baunaa doesn’t really have a signature Psychube made just yet, but there are other available 6-star options that work amazingly well with her unique kit. The first on the list would be Luxurious Leisure, and it provides Kaalaa with an increased damage output. It’s the best 6-star Psychube for her, increasing her Ultimate damage and helping her generate Moxie much faster. The next best option would be Thunderous Applause, as it works well for a Critical-based build on Kaalaa. Both her Ultimate and Skill 1 can benefit greatly from this Critical damage boost. This is especially true if you want to use this Psychube on her in teams with critical buffers/debuffers to ensure that critical hits are triggered consistently.
For the last two options, you can use either Hopscotch or His Bounden Duty. Hopscotch offers a boost to Ultimate damage and decent choice when faced with multiple enemies. His Bounden Duty is a great option if you want that general damage with a high base ATK and DMG bonus. If you have nothing else, this is the Psychube you go for until you are able to get a better one.
Best Resonance Build For Kaalaa Baunaa In Reverse: 1999
When it comes to a Resonance build, you want to focus Kaalaa on an ATK-oriented or Critical-oriented set so that it works well with her kit. Despite her high damage output, Kaalaa’s mechanics cause her to be very AP-greedy when it comes to battles. This means that she’s not very friendly with a lot of teams, but if you do manage to have these particular characters, you can easily build your Kaalaa around these teams and enjoy the chaos she brings.
Kaalaa Baunaa + Pickles + Tooth Fairy + An-an Lee
Despite being a canine, Pickles is a great Support option in your Kaalaa Baunaa team if you have him. He’ll provide the best support without using much AP, which is something that Kaalaa needs in order to excel. Additionally, he also offers damage buffs via his Ultimate, which will greatly increase Kaalaa’s output.
Tooth Fairy is purely there for healing and debuffing any enemies, and if you need another Support Helper in the fight, An-an Lee is a good option, too.
Kaalaa Baunaa + Shamane + Sonetto + Medicine Pocket
Shamane was released with Kaalaa Baunaa in the same patch, and he’s a great Sub DPS unit to match Kaalaa. He works similar to Pickles, where he debuffs enemies and brings in DEF shredding for his team. The best part about him is that his Ultimate generates Moxie for the team, and since Kaalaa cannot generate her own, Shamane really caters to her needs in this way.
With Sonetto or Medicine Pocket on the team, you’ll have a great Support and Healer to keep Kaalaa buffed and ready to take action.
Kaalaa Baunaa + Sonetto + Balloon Party + La Source
This is more of a F2P or one that beginners can try out if they obtained Kaalaa Baunaa. Sonetto works as a great Support here, boosting Kaalaa’s damage. With Balloon Party on DEF and Heal, you can choose to swap her out for even An-an Lee for a more controlled Support.
La Source is purely for healing, and since she’s a 3-star healer, she is the best beginner healer out there until you obtain better ones like Tooth Fairy or Medicine Pocket.
