Spider-Man being one of the most prolific characters in media certainly has its benefits. As announced by Sony, the Advanced Suit 2.0 from Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is being added to Marvel Rivals as a skin for well… Spider-Man.
The skin will be live in Marvel Rivals on January 30 at 4am ET / 1am PT. Those of you who have played Insomniac’s Spider-Man will recognise the Advanced Suit 2.0 as Peter Parker’s primary suit in Spider-Man 2. It’s an original creation by Insomniac, with the character’s signature red and blue colours popping more than on regular Spider-Man suits. As the name suggests, the suit is an upgrade over the original Advanced Suit which Peter Parker donned in Marvel’s Spider-Man.
An Insomniac Original
In Marvel Rivals, Spider-Man already has several colourways for his default skin and a couple of other skins, too. The Advanced Suit 2.0 will join the Bombastic Bag Man Beyond, Iron Spider and Spider-Punk costumes. There are thousands of possibilities for Spider-Man costumes, but it’s nice that fans of Insomniac’s series can represent Marvel’s Spider-Man in the live-service shooter.
Marvel Rivals developer NetEase recently surprised players by announcing that it intends to add a new character to the game every month and a half. This is an impressive turnover considering the intensive development work required to create, test and ship a new character. With the launch of season one, NetEase added Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman to an already impressive roster of 33 launch characters.
“Every season we’ll be rolling out fresh seasonal stories, new maps, and new heroes,” game director Guangyun Chen revealed. “We’ll actually be breaking down each season into two halves. The length of one season is three months. And for each half of the season, we will introduce a new hero.”
There are already several characters rumoured to be coming to the game in the near future, namely Professor X, Colossus, Jia Jing, Paste Pot Pete and Locus.
