Krai, the popular Battle Royale map in Call of Duty Mobile, is preparing to step out of the spotlight, at least for now. Starting in Season 1, Krai will no longer be part of the main Battle Royale mode rotation in COD Mobile. But don’t worry, this is far from a goodbye.
Krai will be available to play in Limited Playlists and Tournaments modes
The decision to remove Krai from the main rotation might align with the developers’ plans to introduce fresh content and diversify the gameplay experience, although nothing official has been announced on the basis of this decision.
For Krai fans, this means the map won’t completely disappear. Instead, it will be available in Limited Playlists and Tournaments, giving you a chance to revisit it in unique scenarios. The next time you can experience Krai will be on January 23rd, 2025 when the map will reappear in Limited Playlists. You can simply see this as a new chapter for this map.
Added on November 7th, 2024 as a part of the Season 10: 5th Anniversary update, Krai quickly became a fan favourite. Inspired by the administrative regions in Russia, also known as Krai, the map featured locations based on areas from Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, including Golova, Sanatorium, and Zoo. Being a smaller map, Krai provided fast-paced gameplay with constant action, which was loved by many players.
When it was introduced, it had a timer on it, so it was assumed that it wouldn’t be a permanent map. Given how quickly players pushed their ranks with this map, I believed this would end at any moment. Overall, Krai not being part of the BR mode rotation is definitely going to hurt many COD Mobile players who loved the experience with it.
