The long wait is over, as the first official Daredevil: Born Again trailer has finally arrived. Coming just two months before the series premieres in March, the trailer is one of the latest for Marvel Studios, leaving just a few official images, short glimpses in showcase videos, and some teases from the show’s creatives to build all the hype.
There may have been a good reason for the trailer’s delay. Vincent D’Onofrio (who returns as the villainous Kingpin) stated that the ongoing Los Angeles wildfires were partly responsible for the delay. Still, fans have been patient (or impatient) enough, and all of their goodwill toward a series that went through massive retooling in its early stages has been rewarded.

A Daredevil: Born Again star spoke about the time jump in the upcoming show.
Daredevil: Born Again is a massive project for Marvel Studios. While not the first step in porting over the heroes of the Netflix Marvel era (Matt Murdock was Peter Parker’s lawyer in Spider-Man: No Way Home, after all), this will be the first standalone series for one of those characters. Daredevil season three premiered over six years ago, and of course, the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen has been sprinkled here and there in the MCU (with appearances in both Echo and She-Hulk). However, fans have wanted nothing more than to see Matt Murdock leading his own show once again.
The new Daredevil: Born Again trailer is not just a recycled version of what was shown at D23, which will surely leave anyone who might have watched a leaked recording from that event feeling relieved. While the new trailer does include some of the same footage shown previously, fans can also get some better looks at the new vigilante/villain known as White Tiger, as well as more of the civil but tense conversation between Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk. There are also some brief shots of Wilson Bethel returning as Bullseye, and a look at a bearded Frank Castle aka the Punisher. What is really being highlighted here, however, is the hard-hitting, bone-crunching action. Judging by this trailer, the new creative team is not holding back on the violence that made the original Netflix series such a hit.
Daredevil: Born Again did not inspire a lot of confidence when its production began. The show was reportedly not meeting the standards of Marvel Studios brass, and production was hit hard (along with everything else in Hollywood) by the twin 2023 writers’ and actors’ strikes. During this time, the decision was made to throw out most of what had already been done for the show and make some creative changes, including parting ways with the original showrunners and directors. Luckily, that meant enlisting directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead to helm the series. The duo showed what they could do with two of the best episodes of Moon Knight, as well as their incredible work on Loki season 2, and their style is clearly on display in the latest trailer. It remains to be seen whether Daredevil: Born Again will live up to the hype, but judging by the trailer, fans have every right to be excited.
Daredevil: Born Again premieres on March 4th on Disney Plus.
