Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater has gone from being one of the most anticipated games of 2024 to one of the most anticipated games of 2025. Not only did it not arrive before the end of last year, as some expected, but the remake still doesn’t even have a new release date. Despite that, the game now has its own Funko Pops. Two figures modeled after its biggest characters that will seemingly be released later this week.
In typical Funko Pop fashion, the images of Metal Gear’s first Funko Pops have found their way online before getting a full and official reveal. The figures are modeled after Snake Eater’s Naked Snake and The Boss. You could argue the characters are actually from the original versions of the Metal Gear games, but their packaging has confirmed they’ve specifically been created with the Delta remake in mind.

The Snake Eater Remake Is Getting Funko Pops This Week
Release Date Reveal Imminent, Perhaps
As for when we might be able to start playing the Snake Eater remake, or at least get an update on when it’ll be here, Funko’s releases do often tend to line up with its corresponding IPs. Squid Game’s season two Pops followed the show’s rollout on Netflix, Astro Bot got his first Funko Pop the day after it was named Game of the Year, and a new Super Sonic Funko Pop was revealed a few days before Sonic the Hedgehog 3 hit cinemas.
The Snake Eater remake was heavily rumored before Konami finally caved and confirmed it was real back in May of 2023. There was hope throughout 2024 that both it and the Silent Hill 2 remake would be here before the end of the year. Silent Hill 2 made that deadline but Snake Eater did not. The Funko Pops releasing this week suggest it’s coming soon, though. Perhaps Konami is preparing for an update of some sort, and a long overdue release date reveal, during next week’s Xbox Developer Direct.
