Granny Citlali is a powerful Cryo support character that can provide shields and buffs, but which weapons work best with her build? Let’s find out.

While Mavuika can certainly make Arlecchino or Hu Tao envy her numbers, piloting Mavuika to fully utilize her kit can be daunting. She needs specific combos, thorough gearing, and some other subtleties before she can rain down flares of justice. Here are some pro tips to turn you into a Mavuika main!

Never Stop Moving

Mavuika’s Charged Attacks perform a cyclical slash when you’re on her motorbike in the same way Xiangling
‘s Pyronado spins around her. Since the cycle is continuous, this means Mavuika can hit enemies with large hitboxes, such as the Hydro Tulpa, multiple times with each spin.

Mavuika can usually hit eight times in her Burst’s duration. Using this tech, you can comfortably reach nine hits per rotation.

However, this can become even better due to Mavuika having the ability to move during her Charged Attack. Continuing to move right, the direction opposite to her Charged Attack spins, lets you fit in more hits even against normal enemies, increasing her overall DPS.

Keep Track Of Mavuika’s Burst Timer

Colored Indication To Know When It Runs Out

Mavuika doesn’t use any Nightsoul points during her Burst, so she can continue cycling even after the duration ends. However, since her Buff’s enhancement is what makes her damage skyrocket, staying on field with her after its expiration can result in a DPS loss.

Genshin Impact’s co-op mode allows for you and your friends to explore the gorgeous open world and tackle bosses as a group.

While you can certainly keep the duration in mind or swap out once the damage falls down, there is a better way to track her buffs. Usually, when she’s on her motorbike, the color of her Nightsoul bar is an orangey red. However, while she’s under her Elemental Burst’s effect, this changes into a fiery white instead. This visual indicator can help you comfortably time your rotations, even without manually counting each second.

Easy Combos For More Damage

Mavuika, the Pyro Archon standing in front of various Genshin Impact characters

Mavuika’s Charged Attack usually deals eight instances of Charged Attack damage and then a separate instance of Final Charged Attack damage. This final damage is stronger, but a lot slower than her normal hits. This creates a situation where, under normal circumstances, the final damage goes unbuffed, resulting in a huge DPS loss for Mavuika.

The dash itself also deals damage, adding a nice bit of extra DPS.

You can combat this quite easily by weaving in a single dash cancel anytime between your Charged Attack hits. This leads to you getting nine hits fully buffed by Mavuika’s Elemental Burst.

Take Advantage Of Enhanced Plunge’s Immunity To Fall Damage

Safe Landing, Safer Crashing

Mavuika makes exploration easier than it has ever been. From riding up mountainsides to flying in the air, there aren’t many things Mavuika can’t do. However, one thing that often gets overlooked is her ability to negate fall damage with her enhanced Plunge Attack.

You’ll want to keep an eye out for these catalysts if you’ve pulled Neuvillette in Genshin Impact

This isn’t always the most useful thing to do, since even normal Plunge Attacks don’t let you fall below a certain percentage. However, if you’re exploring and don’t want to eat any restorative foods or switch to a healer, using this property of her attacks can make your daily chores even easier.

7

Mavuika Needs A CRIT Rate Close To 60

Not As Much As You’d Think

Screenshot of a stat page in Genshin Impact.

Mavuika has a CRIT DMG ascension, which means prepping her with tons of CRIT Rate is integral to buffing her damage. However, since she’s a Natlan character, she can make use of the Obsidian Codex’s 40 percent CRIT Rate buff. This can make getting the right amount of CRIT difficult.

Usually, you’d have to decide between either a CRIT Rate circlet or a weapon with a CRIT Rate substat. Even then, your substats can mess up your build and make you reach above 100 percent CRIT. The simplified goal is to aim for a CRIT Rate closest to 60 percent without accounting for the Obsidian Codex buff dnd without ever going above the 60.

Elemental Mastery Is Better Than ATK

Surprising, We Know

Pyro is the element tied closest to the ATK stat. As such, you’d expect it to benefit Mavuika greatly. After all, Mavuika and her weapon combined have the highest base ATK in the game, making each percentage buff increase her damage more than other characters.

A gun is only as good as the person using it.

Unfortunately, the reality is quite the opposite. Mavuika does have plenty of ATK, but she also has many ways of increasing it further. Since Genshin Impact’s damage calculations are additive, this leads to specializing in one stat yielding worse returns than getting enough of each. For this reason, Elemental Mastery becomes a lot better.

5

She Works Well With Xinqiu And Yelan

She Can Make Use Of The Best Hydro Duo

Mavuika, when played perfectly, is primarily a Charged ATK user. Since Yelan
and Xinqiu both need you to use your Normals instead, you may think they can’t work in a Mavuika team except if you use some weird combos. Luckily enough, the first hit of Mavuika’s Charged Attack is considered a Normal Attack and does proc them.

This means that, at the start of every spin cycle, enemies are afflicted with Hydro. You still can’t Vaporize all your hits if you play normally, though, so you’ll have to change your rotation to two Charged Attacks followed by a dash reset to get that first Normal Attack again.

Dash When Using Mavuika’s Bike

Her Burst Makes Exploration Even More Seamless

Mavuika is arguably the best exploration unit in Genshin Impact. Her ability to speed up your walks while also providing ways to navigate any form of terrain is unlike anything else we’ve seen, but she can be even better, especially in non-Natlan regions.

Genshin Impact: Best Elements For The Traveler

A shocking selection

Mavuika’s Elemental Burst stops her from using Nightsoul points. This can be used to lengthen the amount of time she can ride her bike, essentially doubling her already effective exploration whenever you have her Burst up. We can take this a step further, though, as holding the dash button while Mavuika is on her bike still doesn’t use any stamina or Nightsoul Points whatsoever. This makes her the fastest character in the game for eight seconds, and a remarkably decent way to travel afterward as well.

Dashing Can Be Dangerous In Melt Teams

They Can Overtake The Cryo Aura

If you’ve been in the Genshin Impact community for a while, you’d know that dash cancels are one of the most widely used techs for increasing character damage. These can help you deal damage faster and save yourself from enemy attacks by using immune frames, serving as one of the fundamental mechanics of Genshin. However, for Mavuika, using them may come at a price.

This dash also shares ICD with your Charged Attack, which means it can lower the consistency at which you Melt or Vaporize your Charged Attacks.

Mavuika deals passive damage whenever she passes or dashes through an enemy. The extra damage is nice, yes, but it also messes up your elemental aura due to it dealing Pyro DMG. For example, if you use your Citlali to apply Cryo to Melt your Elemental Burst, a misplaced dash can steal and overtake the Melt aura, cutting your damage by half due to the Burst not Melting.

2

Don’t Overlook The Golden Troupe And Gladiator For Mavuika

Obsidian Isn’t The Only Set For Her

Mavuika prepares for battle while donning sunglasses in Genshin Impact.

The Obsidian Codex
is Mavuika’s best artifact set; there’s not much doubt about that. However, that’s only if you can make full use of the 40 percent CRIT Rate buff it gives. If, for example, you’re using a CRIT Rate weapon or already have plenty of CRIT Rate artifact pieces, other options start catching up, even becoming a better alternative very quickly.

Genshin Impact: Weirdest Team Combinations That Perform Amazingly Well

Sometimes, the best teams are the ones you less expect. Check out these strange team compositions in Genshin Impact.

The first set that may come to mind is Gladiator, buffing your Normal and Charged ATK DMG. While it does work fine on her, another set that is often overlooked is the Golden Troupe, thought of usually as a purely off-field set. The reason this works so well on Mavuika is that, first, it buffs her off-field damage a lot.

However, it also increases her on-field damage due to Mavuika’s enhanced attacks when she’s on her bike being considered Elemental Skill DMG. This gives a flat 20 percent DMG multiplier to all her hits on top of even more damage on her off-field flares.

Mavuika As A Support Is Suboptimal

She’s Too Good As A Carry

Mavuika with flaming hair crosses swords with Capitano in Genshin Impact.

Mavuika is an amazing support, providing buffs while also possessing damage capable of keeping up with Xiangling
. However, despite this, from a purely meta standpoint, playing Mavuika in a support role is rarely ever the best thing to do. This isn’t because there’s a fault in Mavuika, but rather the opposite.

Mavuika is the strongest DPS in Genshin Impact based on numbers alone. As such, in any team where she’s working as a support, such as a Kinich team, putting her on field and buffing her instead of Kinich
will be an overall DPS increase.
