Since it was released, the Mythical Island booster pack was added to the game, bringing with it 68 new cards for players to collect. While Pokemon TCG Pocket‘s initial Genetic Apex packs accounted for 226 cards split between three packs, some gamers had already unlocked all the cards when Mythical Island was added. With another expansion being rumored to drop later in January, some fans are speculating that Pack Hourglasses will serve no purpose, but those rumors have been assuaged.

Pokemon TCG Pocket Pack Hourglasses Are Here to Stay
When players have no Pack Hourglasses to speed up the process, they can earn Pack Stamina by waiting for 12-hour intervals. This means that, regardless of any currency, players can open two Pokemon TCG Pocket booster packs each day. Pack Hourglasses can be unlocked by completing daily challenges and opening the Complimentary Item Set in the shop, which renews every day. One Pack Hourglass will speed up the Pack Stamina process by one hour, with 12 hourglasses required for the 12-hour intervals rounded up to the nearest hour. Beyond Pack Hourglasses, Pokemon TCG Pocket features many currencies, including Wonder Hourglasses, Special, Event, and standard Shop Tickets, Poke Gold, Pack Points, and more.
