Marvel Rivals Fans Think Season 1 Buffed Moon Knight Too Much

Marvel Rivals Has Already Hit 20 Million Players

Summary

  • Moon Knight has been turned into an absolute menace, as many Marvel Rivals fans think Season 1 has buffed him too much.
  • Most of the complaints are aimed at Moon Knight’s buffed ultimate, which is now faster, does more damage, and is very easy to use multiple times.
  • Players are now calling for NetEase to either, reduce the speed of his ultimate, give it a timer before it goes off, or slow down his ultimate regeneration.

Marvel Rivals is a live service hero shooter, which means that developer NetEase has to perform a delicate balancing act to ensure that certain characters aren’t dominating almost every match. For example, Hawkeye and Hela were considered far too strong during Season 0, capable of one-shotting anyone that wasn’t a tank.

They were unsurprisingly nerfed into the ground alongside the launch of Season 1, whilst also buffing certain characters in a lot of minor ways. Moon Knight was one such character, as his ultimate was widely considered one of the worst in the game due to how easy it was to avoid. In Season 1, NetEase decided to increase the radius and the amount of projectiles it sends down, essentially making it bigger and deal more damage.

Marvel Rivals Fans Think Season 1 Buffed Moon Knight Too Much

Unfortunately, it seems like those small tweaks have turned Moon Knight into a real menace. Over the past few days, there have been several posts on social media about how busted Moon Knight is, particularly his ultimate ability, which is now considered one of the strongest in the game. A Reddit user called The___Four demonstrated the problem on the Marvel Rivals subreddit earlier today.

In their video, they use Loki’s ultimate ability to turn into Moon Knight, and then use his on the enemy team. He then throws out an ankh, shoots at it to rapidly increase his ultimate ability’s cooldown meter, and then uses his ultimate again. All of this takes place within the span of about thirty seconds.

My favorite Oregon Trail clone is Fallout New Vegas.

While this does appear to be a result of Loki being Moon Knight, there are other Moon Knight players in the replies explaining that it’s astonishingly easy to get their ultimate ability back again, as it has always been easy to do – all you have to do is throw an ankh into a crowded group and shoot in one spot. The real problem is the damage that his ultimate now does, combined with its frequency.

In another Reddit post by a user called Jorgejjvr, a lot more players are dissatisfied about the amount of damage the ultimate is doing now, with some claiming they’re being “deleted” before Moon Knight even gets his full voiceline out. It’s led to many calls to either reduce his cooldown regeneration, make the whole ultimate play out slower, or give it a timer for people to know it’s coming.

Whatever the case, hopefully NetEase actually does something to address the problem in the next update, which should roll around whenever they decide to add the rest of The Fantastic Four. Hopefully, we’re not waiting until the start of Season 2 – I can’t deal with another overpowered DPS making my ranking tank.
