We’re about to get one of our biggest updates to Chapter 6 of Fortnite, bringing in Godzilla, the new bonus skin. The trailer for the character been pretty exciting, but what exactly is coming can be a tad confusing for some people. Is there going to be a Fortnite Godzilla live event?
We know that Godzilla in Fortnite is going to be a skin. A bonus skin that’s unlocked through quests as long as you have the new Fortnite Battle Pass. However, some players have been expecting a bit more, a Fortnite Godzilla live event. Although, so far there’s no sign of one.
The way live events have been structured has changed a bit in recent seasons. So, the trailer being interpreted as a live event is fair, and Fortnite streamers have been using clickbait Godzilla event thumbnails for weeks now. Is one actually coming through and when will we see a live event?

Is There a Fortnite Godzilla Live Event?
Right now, there’s no indication that there’s a Fortnite Godzilla live event coming. Not in the sense of a proper live event. We think the Godzilla Fortnite boss is being included on the map as an in-game feature. Not one of the events that only pop up once in a season. However, Epic could announce one. We could also expect there to be a live event later in the season, perhaps when King Kong makes his arrival alongside Godzilla. It seems the dinosaur will be on his own for a little while first though.

Fortnite’s live events are a bit more common lately. We got two in the past two seasons. Although, in both cases, one was quite a bit smaller than the other. Prior to this, we got live events at the close of seasons for a while, mainly mini-ones. Players might have been expecting a live event for Godzilla to be in the style of the mid-season Doom event from the previous Fortnite season. However, at the moment it doesn’t look like that’s coming.
We’ll have to wait a bit longer to see what the next live event looks like. Our end of season event could definitely involve both Godzilla and King Kong though. First, we’ll have to see what happens on the island with Godzilla alone.
