How to Use Console Loot Filters in Path of Exile 2

Loot filters can be a great help in Path of Exile 2, especially once items start dropping by the dozens. They reduce screen clutter while simultaneously highlighting the most important stuff on the ground, making the looting experience feel smoother and more convenient.

Manually sorting and picking items up on console or with a controller can a bit tedious, but thankfully, players on PlayStation and Xbox can also use item filters just like PC players. Using filters on consoles is a little confusing, though, so here’s a short guide showing all the steps you need to do to get them up and running.

Path of Exile 2 brings back the Expedition event as an endgame encounter, letting players blow up the ground to spawn empowered enemies.

As of writing, in order to use loot filters in the console versions of PoE 2, you’ll need to link your console accounts to your Path of Exile account. This is done via the Path of Exile 1 website — to do so, follow these steps:

  1. Login to the Path of Exile website.
  2. Click on your account name on the upper-left side of the webpage.
  3. Click on “Manage Account” on the right side, below your profile name and avatar.
  4. Under the “Secondary Login,” press the Connect button for either Sony (PS) or Microsoft (Xbox) options.

After pressing the Connect button for your chosen console, you’ll be prompted to log in with either an existing PlayStation or Xbox account. Follow all the steps that appear, and your accounts should now be linked.

Finding and Using Loot Filters

Once your accounts are linked, go back to your profile page on the website, then click on the Item Filters button on the right side. Then, click on the Item Filter Ladder hyperlink. This will open a new tab on your browser that contains the best loot filters for Path of Exile 2.

Above the list of filters is a drop-down box — change this to PoE 2. After that, click on the filter you want to use, then press the Follow button on the filter’s page. . If you’re a new Path of Exile 2 player, we recommend NeverSink’s semi-strict or regular filters for a more general/streamlined experience.

Finally, now that you’re following a loot filter on the official website, open your game and head to the Options menu. Go to the Game tab, and right at the very top of the menu is an Item Filter option. The filter you followed on the website should be in the drop-down menu. Select it, then click Save. From now on, items that drop in the game should now have different labels, colors, or even sound effects based on the filter you enabled.
