  • Asphalt Nitro will no longer be accessible after March 3, 2025, as per an in-game popup notification.
  • Launched in May 2015 as a lightweight version of the Asphalt series, the game was designed for players with limited storage space.
  • Gameloft has not provided an official explanation for the shutdown, and the game has already been delisted from app stores.

A recent in-game popup has informed players of Asphalt Nitro that the game will no longer be accessible after March 3, 2025, indicating a message of shut down. This notification came as a surprise to many who were actively playing and enjoying the fast-paced racing title.

Asphalt Nitro has been delisted from the Google Play Store

Launched as a lightweight version of the popular Asphalt series, Asphalt Nitro debuted on mobile devices in May 2015. Designed to cater to players with limited storage space, the game stood out for offering premium features in a lighter package. With solid gameplay, a variety of exotic cars, and stunning locations, the game quickly became a favorite among mobile racing fans following its release.

Interestingly, the shut down notice of Asphalt Nitro did not include any explanation from Gameloft regarding the decision to sunset the game. No hints were provided in the message or through official channels about the reasoning behind the shutdown. If you are still playing the game, you are advised to utilize all remaining in-game currencies before the shutdown date.

At the time of writing, Asphalt Nitro appears to have already been delisted from app stores. My attempts to access the game’s official page through Google result in a “not found” error, so it is safe to assume new players won’t be able to try this game in the future until it’s confirmed shutdown.

If you ask me, the game was good, but the decade-old game wasn’t eye-catching, given our advancements in mobile titles. The graphics were old and unpolished, and while the Asphalt series has several other titles under its belt, including last year’s release Legends Unite, hence Gameloft might have felt this to be the right move.
