AMD has slashed prices on its non-X3D Ryzen 9000 series CPUs, offering up to 18% savings for the Ryzen 9 9950X, Ryzen 9 9900X, Ryzen 7 9700X, and the Ryzen 5 9600X at major retailers like Amazon and Newegg.
AMD executives attributed the 9800X3D stock shortage to Intel’s ‘horrible’ Arrow Lake desktop CPUs in a roundtable interview with Tom’s Hardware at CES 2025. Although they have ramped up manufacturing for the X3D chips, there is still no clear timeline for a 9800X3D restock. If your gaming PC is on its last legs, or you want to build a new PC now, the latest non-X3D Ryzen chips are your best bet.
