Part Four: The Calamity

The End of Bleach

Part four: The Calamity will be, by all accounts, the official finale of the Bleach story. This is where the story of Ichigo Kurosaki and the 13-court guard squad in the battle against the Quincy ends. After a 10-year hiatus from the original 2004 anime, Bleach Thousand Year Blood War adapts the final arc of the manga created by Tite Kubo that was never adapted. And after three fantastic parts that surpassed expectations from fans, part four The Calamity will adapt the end of Bleach.

Part 4 will adapt the final battle against Sternritter D – Askin Nakk Le Vaar and Sternritter M – Gerard Valkyrie. As well as the final battle for the sake of the Bleach universe against Soul King Yhwach. This final stretch of the manga was met with heavy criticism from fans during its serialization. However, Tite Kubo has confirmed that Part 4 will contain the largest amount of new material of the Bleach Thousand Year Blood War anime.

Bleach: The Entire Timeline, Explained

Here’s the entire timeline of major events in the Bleach series

Being the final stretch of the story in a battle manga like Bleach and especially in a war arc, this final part will be even more action-focused than the last. Several high-stakes epic battles take place, each of them with several stages to them. The battles against the Royal Guard of the Quincy and the Quincy king will be the longest and most complex battles seen in Bleach. Many members of the 13-court guard squad will get a chance to shine in the closing segment of the war. And for anime-only fans, there will also be the grandiose reveal of brand-new Bankai.

Several fan-favorite characters will finally get the chance to flex their muscles and show off their true power in this final part. Ichigo is no exception to this. The final battle will showcase the protagonist’s true power that he has achieved after finding a resolution with himself and training with Squad Zero. Ichigo and his friends will give their all in the battle against the Royal Guard and the Quincy king.

The anime adaptation is still in the hands of studio Pierrot Films, a new sub-studio that was founded to create animated works of much higher quality inspired by the success of Demon Slayer and Jujutsu Kaisen. This studio has already proven its worth with part three The Conflict, as they have successfully elevated the original Bleach manga to new heights. The release date for the final part has not yet been revealed, but considering the production time of part three and the break between part two and part three, it is expected to be released late 2025 or early 2026.

Bleach TYBW: The Creation of the Sternritter, Explained

Here’s how Yhwach created his powerful Quincy squad; the Sternritter.

The Bleach Thousand-Year Blood War anime has already added tons of new content that isn’t originally in the manga, therefore the events of the final part at the end of the Bleach manga won’t play out exactly like they were in the original work. Instead, the anime-only additions that Kubo has blessed the anime adaptation with thanks to his involvement will change the final part slightly. In the final few episodes of part three The Conflict, several characters made appearances much earlier, such as Isshin Kurosaki and Ryuuken Ishida, who in the original manga arrive at Wahr Welt much later. The battle against Sternritter M – Gerard Valkyrie has also seen vital changes, as in the original manga, The Visored don’t confront him in this way and much less make use of their Hollow masks.

While the original ending of Bleach was met with heavy criticism from fans, the incredible adaptation that we’ve seen so far and the vital, yet small changes to the final arc will make for a much more satisfying finale. Part Four The Conflict, will close the story of Bleach in a much more cohesive and satisfying way than Kubo did in the original manga because of his poor physical health. With his heavy involvement and passion of the studio, Bleach will see a masterful adaptation of its finale, solidifying the Thousand-Year Blood War anime as the greatest comeback seen in the medium.
