Here’s everything you should familiarize yourself with in Marvel Rivals to get the most out of its many systems, mechanics, and rewards!
A standout feature in the game is the Team-Up Abilities system. This unique mechanic enhances heroes by either boosting their stats or granting them new abilities. This guide will walk you through everything you need to know about Team-Up Abilities and how to make the most of them.
This guide will be updated whenever new heroes and team-up abilities are released in the game.
What Are Team-Up Abilities?
Team-Up Abilities are unique skills that activate when specific heroes share the same team.
They provide various boosts, including special attacks, enhanced healing properties, and increased movement options.
Choosing a hero who shares Team-Up Abilities with another friendly hero will give your team a significant advantage.
Team-Up Structure
A Team-Up consists of two to three heroes. One hero serves as the Anchor character. We’ll refer to the rest of the Team-Up heroes as Allies. Think of it as a giving/receiving dynamic.
The Anchor character imparts a skill or boost to their Allies, who use these skills to their advantage.
You cannot activate a Team-Up Ability if the Anchor character hero is absent from the match.
How To Activate Team-Up Abilities
Every Team-Up Ability has specific conditions of activation. However, we can separate them into two primary categories:
- Passive: These abilities activate whenever the Team-Up Anchor character and a Team-Up ally share a team. Sometimes, these two heroes must be in immediate proximity. Otherwise, you don’t have to do anything to activate them.
- Active: These abilities require you to meet Team-Up conditions and press a button on your controller/keyboard to activate.
In most Team-Ups, the Anchor character ability is passive since they are granting a new skill to their allies (whose abilities are often active). Still, there are exceptions. For instance, Rocket Racoon’s (the Anchor character) ability is active in the Ammo Overload Team-Up, and The Punisher’s is passive.
