Call of Duty: Warzone Temporarily Disables Popular Shotgun

A popular Call of Duty: Warzone shotgun is temporarily removed from the game in order to address some issues with the weapon.

The latest Call of Duty: Warzone update was meant to simply fix some of the battle royale’s lingering bugs. It addressed the loading screen crashing issue and various other minor problems, but seems to have caused some fresh issues. As reported by CharlieIntel on Twitter, the new Warzone update has been causing matchmaking problems, and beyond that, it seems to have triggered some major issues for the Ranked Play mode. According to CharlieIntel, Warzone Ranked Play is plagued with problems like players being under the map and Buy Station issues since the latest update.

Call of Duty: Warzone Ranked Play is the competitive version of the battle royale, and so these problems are especially serious. There has been no acknowledgment of the issues on the official Call of Duty social media accounts at the time of this writing, but one has to imagine that Activision is well aware of the problems and a fix will be rolled out sooner rather than later. New updates are released for Call of Duty: Warzone on a regular basis, so fans shouldn’t have to wait too long for these problems to be resolved.

Call of Duty‘s player count on Steam has been down in the wake of stiff competition in the online multiplayer space, problems with cheaters, and recent unpopular decisions like the premium Squid Game Battle Pass. While things seem grim at the moment, getting these problems sorted out combined with the return of Verdansk could very well lead to a resurgence for the popular BR.
