Regardless of the class that you choose for yourself in Atlyss, armor is an essential element that you should take seriously, as it can be the deciding factor between victory and defeat during many of the game’s encounters. However, it can be a bit tricky to put together the right armor pieces since the game provides you with plenty of options that you can pick and choose from.

The same goes for the Chestpiece armor, as these come in a lot more variants than the majority of other wearable equipment. It is crucial to know which ones you should grind for to ensure your character’s safety at different levels of the RPG.

Worn Robe
While it is definitely important to make sure that your character looks good in your chosen armor, the individual stats of the pieces can go a long way in ensuring your survival in Atlyss. Unfortunately, there are not many Chestpieces that fit those conditions early in the game, which is where the Worn Robe comes in as a welcome piece of wearable gear.
Much better looking and with better benefits than its Slimecrust Chest counterpart, the Worn Robe not only protects you against regular attacks but also provides fruitful magic defense. All you have to do is kill a bunch of Lesser Wisps, and you’ll have yourself a great Chestpiece that will keep you protected at the beginning of your journey.

Journeyman Vest
Wearing a Chestpiece that not only caters to your defensive abilities but also helps you out in offensive scenarios as well can be quite useful during encounters. As such, the Journeyman Vest is perfect for your early moments in Atlyss. Aside from providing both regular and magic defense, the Chestpiece armor piece also brings attack and magic power to the table, so you can rest assured knowing that you have both fronts taken care of.
Fortunately, there are multiple easy ways to acquire the Chestpiece. Not only is it quite reasonably priced at Sally’s Store, but it is also conveniently available within various chests in the Sanctum Catacombs.

Slimek Chest
Killing Slimeks may not be the toughest thing to do in Atlyss, but the rewards that come with it make them worth the fight. There is a chance that they may drop a couple of effective armor pieces upon dying. Similar to how the Slimek Leggings are some of the best lower armor pieces in the game, their Chest counterpart is just as beneficial in battle, providing excellent defense against many enemies.
While you are quite well protected against regular attacks, the Slimek Chest also keeps you safe, at least to some extent, against magic. And when you feel like you have gotten all the required utility out of it, you can either Enchant it for a reasonable price or sell it for a good enough amount.

Warrior Chest
At various levels of the game, Atlyss offers different armor pieces that are specified for each class, but if you are playing as a Fighter, you will realize that you are constantly getting the best deal between the three classes. The Warrior Chest is one of the major benefits that only the Fighter class can equip, as its defense is significantly higher than its Bandit and Mystic counterparts.
That is not all that the Warrior Chest has in store, as it also comes with a boost to your health and stamina, two key aspects that you have to keep in check during an encounter with the enemy. As a cherry on top, the Chestpiece armor piece also gives your attack power a nice buff, making it more than worthwhile to equip.
Use the Lively Enchantment with the Warrior Chest to give yet another bonus to your already increased health and defense stats.

Carbuncle Robe
If you have chosen to play as a Mystic, it is only natural that you will be using a lot of magic in Atlyss. In those cases, it is always helpful to have a Chestpiece that can provide you with some much-needed buffs in the middle of your journey. Providing a massive increase to your character’s magic power and defense, the Carbuncle Robe is an amazing armor piece choice available solely for the Mystic class.
Magic is not the only thing that the Carbuncle Robe will protect you from, though, as it can keep you safe from regular attacks as well. And considering its slight mana buff and convenient availability, there really is not much reason not to consider wearing it.

Chainscale Chest
There is a reason why the Poon character wears the Chainscale Chest canonically in the game’s official banner. If you want to equip the armor piece that is the most lore-accurate in Atlyss, then this Chestpiece is the one you should go for. Of course, the armor piece comes with plenty of useful buffs that cater to almost every one of your character’s stats, with its defensive abilities against both regular and magic attacks standing out as the highlights.
Aside from that, the Chainscale Chest also increases your abilities on the offensive front. Combined with its stamina and dexterity buffs, you can rest assured knowing that your agility and attack power will get you through any battle.

King Breastplate
Defeating Lord Kaluuz gives you the chance to acquire some highly effective armor pieces, regardless of your character’s class, but the King set is easily one of the best wearable equipment that you can find in Atlyss. Just like its King Greaves Leggings counterpart, the King Breastplate is specified only for the Fighter class but is absolutely remarkable when it comes to its benefits.
For starters, it provides extraordinary defense to your character. It also gives you a health buff to ensure your overall safety in combat. In addition to that, it increases both your stamina and attack power quite significantly, so you can stay on the offensive in almost any battle without caring too much about the consequences.
The King Breastplate has excellent defense, but pairing it up with the Guardian Enchantment can take its regular and magical defensive abilities even further.

Magilord Overalls
While the Magilord Boots may fall just a little short of their Berserker and Fuguefall counterparts for the lower body, the Overalls more than make up for that by being the best Chestpiece that makes the Mystic class a force to be reckoned with. Dropped after beating quite possibly the toughest boss in the game, Colossus, the Magilord Overalls’ extremely high magic defense remains unmatched among any other Chestpieces available in Atlyss.
With a special focus on magic, the Chestpiece armor piece brings more than enough power and mana to the table for the Mystic class to go all out in combat. And just in case any incoming attacks are not magical, the Magilord Overalls also come with plenty of regular defense and stamina to always keep you safe and moving around in battle.
