Nintendo still has not officially revealed the Switch 2 at the time of this writing, but leaked information has led to fans creating mock-ups comparing hypothetical versions of the console and its controllers to existing Switch hardware. Nintendo fans are growing anxious for official information on the Switch 2, especially as “leaked” info is endlessly flooding the internet.

There have been so many different Switch 2 leaks these past couple of weeks that it’s hard to keep them straight. Some of the Switch 2 leaks have claimed that the new console will launch with a budget price of $300, while more believable leaks have claimed that the device will feature a new Mario Kart game as its major first-party launch title. Accessory makers have provided some of the more reliable potential Switch 2 leaks, with mock-ups made showing how various accessories look on the system.

Nintendo Reportedly Had Lawyers Confront Company That Leaked Switch 2 Replica at CES

A new report suggests Nintendo’s attorneys have confronted the company responsible for the most high-profile Switch 2 leak that came out of CES 2025.

A pair of Reddit users have created size comparisons to show how the Switch 2 and its Joy-Con controllers stack up compared to the original Switch. Assuming the leaked Switch 2 size information is accurate, the new console and its controllers will be larger than the existing Switch and its Joy-Cons. An image by HertzBurst on Reddit shows hypothetical Switch 2 Joy-Cons compared to the red and blue Switch Joy-Cons, while one made by Oilswell showed how the Switch 2 might compare to the Switch Lite, original Switch, and Switch OLED. The takeaway is that the Switch 2 is similar to the original console in many ways, but it’s definitely bigger.

Now, it should be stressed that this is all based on unofficial, leaked information, and so fans should definitely take these size comparisons with a grain of salt. While it’s a virtual guarantee at this point that the Switch 2 is going to be bigger than the original Switch, exactly how much bigger it is is not 100% clear at this time. Fans won’t know for sure how the Switch 2 compares to the original Switch console until Nintendo itself decides to unveil the console.

Based on the leaks, it’s estimated that the Switch 2 will be 270 x 116 x 14mm with Joy-Cons attached, whereas the original Switch is 239 x 102 x 13.9mm with Joy-Cons attached.

We’re now halfway through January and Nintendo has not revealed when it will be unveiling the Switch 2. Many rumors suggest that the Switch 2 reveal will happen at some point this week, with some pointing to Thursday, January 16 and others claiming the unveiling will happen on Friday, January 17. Like with the leaked Switch 2 measurements, fans shouldn’t get too excited until Nintendo itself makes an announcement.
