On January 11, the Redmond, Washington-based developer shared its updated roadmap for the game, which runs until late 2026. The first item on the newly detailed agenda isn’t a content drop, but a technical patch that will transition ARK: Survival Ascended to the latest iteration of Unreal Engine 5, identified by version number 5.5. Studio Wildcard said that this upgrade will introduce significant performance improvements. Around this time is when the developer also plans to reintroduce support for Nvidia’s frame generation, which was removed in the second half of 2024 due to engine-related issues.

The UE5 update will also mark a continuation of Studio Wildcard’s efforts to restructure the game’s data—an endeavor meant to allow players to download ARK: Survival Ascended DLC packs individually. This selective approach to map delivery aims to make the game’s install size more manageable. Moving forward, the remaster will also receive some new content in April 2025, including a Fantastic Tame and a free creature in the form of a Bison.
Yet another ARK: Survival Ascended map is then planned to debut in June 2025. Studio Wildcard confirmed this addition will be delivered as paid DLC. Details about the map are planned to be revealed in the months ahead, possibly in early spring. Beyond that, another Fantastic Tame and a community-voted free creature will be added to the survival crafting game in August 2025.
2026 will then see Studio Wildcard focus on remastering ARK: Survival Evolved‘s Genesis expansions. Survival Ascended is planned to receive Genesis: Part 1 in April 2026, followed by Part 2 four months later. Both will launch alongside one part of Bob’s True Tales, a new content drop that was previously announced as part of the game’s season pass. A remastered version of the Fjordur map should then land in December 2026 as a free update. Additionally, Studio Wildcard plans on rolling out three more Fantastic Tames throughout 2026. It’s possible that the developer also has some smaller surprises in store for the following two years, as its newly shared roadmap is more of a big-picture overview than a comprehensive preview of everything coming to ARK: Survival Ascended in the foreseeable future.
